"What do you mean?" I asked.

"We can be going at it like this in your mother's house," she said blushing at the mere thought of my mother overhearing us.

"Why not? We did at your parent's house," I countered.

"Yes but they weren't around to hear us. Besides we'd just met then and I couldn't keep my hands off my new man," she said running a hand from my face all the way down to my limp cock.

"You're getting bored of me," I teased.

"No. I still can't keep my hands off my handsome husband, but I know you'll be here tomorrow now," she said.

"This is going to be a long trip," I said with a sad face.

"I guess were not done yet tonight then," she said sitting up to suck some life back into my cock.

The next morning we woke up clinging to each other as the alarm screamed at us. Our bed sheets were a wrinkled disaster after we stayed up late trying to squeeze enough sex into one night to last us though our trip. If it hadn't been such a fantastic night I would have called it a waste of time because she kissed me and asked me to screw her again before we even crawled out of bed. We made love a second time in the shower and went down to meet our cab ride to the airport with droopy eyelids. Thankfully we had a three-hour flight to catch up on our sleep.

Cassie clutched my hand nervously as our plane readied for takeoff. She'd only told me a few days before that she didn't like flying. When she was entering snowboarding competitions before her knee injury she flew all the time so she wasn't deathly afraid of flying, though given the choice she'd avoid it when she could. If she had mentioned it sooner we could have planned to drive down instead. She seemed fine except for a painful tightening of her hand on mine when she felt the landing gear coming up after takeoff. I whispered in her ear to tell she was doing great and she opened her eyes to smile at me, giving me credit for making her brave.

After our late night of lovemaking we were both tired so I asked the flight attendant to bring us a blanket. We put the armrest between our seats up and Cassie leaned into me resting her head against my chest as I wrapped my arm around her. She was asleep moments after closing her eyes and I wished her sweet dreams hoping she'd sleep until we arrived in LA. I managed to doze off for a few minutes here or there but it was hard to sleep with while I was full of excitement over getting to introduce Cassie to my mother soon. My sister and her husband lived a few hours south of LA in San Diego and wouldn't be joining us until Saturday afternoon for the big game. My father was flying in for the game on Saturday too so for the first few days it was going to be just us and my mother.

When our plane dipped more sharply for it final descent into LA Cassie stirred in my arms and at first she seemed a little panicked. I gave her a gentle kiss and assured her we were just landing which calmed her down immediately. She sat up in her seat and clutched my hand again although this time I was sure she was nervous for a whole new reason. We were minutes away from meeting my mother now and Cassie couldn't wait. They talked on the phone every time my mother called so it wasn't like they were complete strangers but I knew Cassie had an irrational fear that my mother would decide she didn't like her the moment they met face to face. In reality, my mother had spent years fearing I'd never find a nice girl to share my life with, never dreaming I would find someone like Cassie.

"Relax sweetie she won't be here just yet," I said as she clung to me during our walk into the arrivals terminal. "She's always late."

"Is that her there?" Cassie asked motioning with her head but afraid to look again.

"It is her," I said more than a little surprised to see her right on time for a change. "Well come on let's go meet her. Hi mom," I said walking towards her with Cassie in tow.

"Hi," she said rushing towards me with her arms open for a hug. Cassie let go of my hand and I held my arms open too, but mom stepped right past me to hug Cassie instead. "Oh Cassie it's so good to meet you at last. Your pictures don't do you justice at all."

"I'm so happy to meet you too Judy," Cassie said shedding a few tears.

"Don't cry my dear," mom said smiling at her.

"I... it's just... I'm worried you'll think Rick made a big mistake," she admitted.

"His father might think that at first, but I know you're the best thing that ever happened to my son," mom said to comfort her. "Come on we'll go get your bags and then you can come home with me."

As we walked Cassie and my mother talked like two old friends. I was on the other side of Cassie holding her hand filling in details where they were needed. Mom couldn't hear enough about Cassie's job at the hospital and told me how proud she was of me when Cassie explained that I had started volunteering my time with the kids. She made it sound like it was a huge deal when she was the one who had come up with the idea of play night with them. The story about me dancing with Tiffany made my mother cry and she gave me a strange look as if she was seeing the man her son had become for the first time. Things happened so naturally with Cassie's shining example to guide me that it took someone like my mother who knew me before Cassie came into my life for her to see how much I had changed for the better.

Cassie tried to carry her own luggage but I wouldn't let her and my mother agreed saying God made men stronger than women so we could carry things for them. By the time we got to my mother's car Cassie was completely relaxed and she knew there was nothing to fear until it came time to meet the rest of my family. I let Cassie sit in front with my mother and stretched out in the back smiling. Seeing mom getting along so well with the woman I was already secretly married to made me incredibly happy. The thought of our secret marriage darkened my mood just a little though. My mother made eye contact with me through the rear view mirror and gave me a little nod to tell me she was very impressed with everything about Cassie.

"What a lovely home," Cassie said when we arrived at my mother's white bungalow with a dark green roof and trim. It used to be on the outskirts of the city but LA had grown around it over the years. I'm sure it's worth several times what she originally paid for it now. "Your flowers are beautiful," she added walking over to look at them.

"They give me something to do now that my baby is all grown up and out on his own," mom said standing close and letting me put an arm around her shoulders.

"He'll always be your baby," Cassie said smiling at us.

"He's yours now Cassie but at least I know he has a wonderful woman that will take good care of him," she said making my wife blush.

"Do you want to come in and see where I grew up?" I asked. Cassie smiled so wide in response as she hurried over that I though her face might split in two.

"I guess you'll want to stay in your old room Rick," my mother said as we brought Cassie inside. "There's only your single bed in there though. Maybe you'd rather the sofa bed downstairs in the TV room."

"We'll be fine in my room," I said.

"Are you sure?" she asked looking at Cassie.

"It's okay I don't mind sleeping close," she said blushing profusely when she realized what she'd let slip out. I guess some of me had rubbed off on her too.

"Relax my dear," my mother said with a warm smile. "When my son told me he was moving to Vancouver to live with a woman I knew there weren't going to be separate beds. Just keep it down at night," she said making me blush now too.

"It's down this way sweetie," I said leading the way with our bags. "What?" I asked when she started to laugh.

"I thought you said you had girlfriends in high school," she said looking around my room. It looked more like the Dodgers locker room than a bedroom with team wallpaper, player posters, and even a Dodgers bedspread. My desk was still piled high with my old baseball cards too.

"You think this would have turned a girl off?" I asked.

"Are you kidding me?" she said giggling. "I'm already starting to worry if I'll be able to get you to leave the stadium on Saturday. Who's the dreamy guy with glasses right above your bed?" she asked laughing harder now.

"That's Orel Hershiser," I said sheepishly. I could see how bad it all looked so clearly now, but that poster hanging above my bed must have been there since I was five or six years old.

"The same guy on the shirt I gave you?" she asked.

"Yeah that's him," I said.

"Really? He looks more like a coach than a player. I think that shirt might have been a mistake. A big mistake," she said with a smile meant to tease me. "Just don't call out his name tonight or were moving downstairs to the sofa bed," she added.

"I see you've had a tour of the shrine," my mother said looking in from the doorway. Together they laughed and teased me but I knew it was all in fun. No one loved me as much as these two women did. "Do you have any plans for tonight yet?" she asked when the teasing was over.

"Just spending the night with my two favorite girls in the whole world," I said making them smile at me. It was almost too easy to charm them.

"Well I'm taking you out for dinner tonight my treat then," mom said. "I was going to have a cup of tea, did you want some Cassie?"

"Yes please Judy. You must have read my mind," Cassie answered following my mother out to the kitchen.

I sat with them as they drank their tea and talked for hours. My mother wanted to know everything we could tell her about my new home and smiled at my descriptions of our favorite places. It was easy for my mother to see how much I truly loved living in Vancouver and Cassie could see it clearly too. She reached over to squeeze my hand as I went on and on about the beautiful city we lived in. Cassie wanted my mother to come for a visit and she promised to try her best to make it sometime before the end of the year.

When the topic turned to Cassie's family, I was honest while sparing the details. I could tell mom was upset that Mr. Dumont didn't like me but she managed to hide most of it from Cassie. She told a story about meeting my sister's husband Brian for the first time and explained it was always harder with girls. It was impossible not to worry about some strange man taking advantage of your daughter, whereas with a son you knew you did your best to raise him to treat women with respect. Mom smiled at Cassie's descriptions of her brother's children and laughed when we told her Marc had taught his son to call me uncle Rick. Growing up my mother had always told me I needed to find a nice girl to raise a family with someday. As I watched the looks she gave Cassie there was no doubt she knew this was the perfect woman for me, the perfect woman to become her daughter in law, and the perfect woman to raise her grandchildren. If only she knew we were halfway there already.

"I couldn't be happier for you Rick," my mom said smiling excitedly when Cassie stepped away to use the washroom. "She's so..." her voice trailed off as she searched for the right words to describe my wife.

"Sweet?" I offered.

"Yes sweet. She's almost too good for you," she said chuckling.

"I like to think of her as my sweet Canadian girl," I said.

"Are they all like that up there?" she asked.

"No mom. There's only one Cassie," I said smiling.

"And there's only one of you too," she said coming back into the kitchen and kissing the top of my head before sitting down again.

The afternoon sped by as the three of us talked together. Cassie was such a charming woman that I knew my mother already loved her and considered her part of the family. It went far beyond inviting her to the Dodgers game with us too. She was elated that her son had found an amazing woman to fall in love with. I knew she was ready to do whatever she could to make sure I never lost her, again if she only knew that we'd already joined our lives forever in marriage. The game on Saturday was going to be a big test though and I was afraid to think what might happen if my father didn't accept Cassie. They were always on the verge of fighting anyway and I knew him having something bad to say about Cassie would set mom off. Come to think of it, it would set me off too.

For dinner mom was taking us to a nice restaurant so I put on the suit Cassie had made me pack and she dressed in a nice conservative black dress. She looked so beautiful in it that I felt my cock begin to stir and had to step out of the bedroom before I lost control. Mom looked sharp too, dressed in one of the outfits she wore to work as a legal secretary. She was full of complements for Cassie when she joined us. It made her blush prettily but she was ready with a complement of her own for my mother's hair. I let them sit together in front again as we drove over to the restaurant. Mom was asking me where I planned to take Cassie while we were there and I threw out a few ideas. There were so many places I wanted her to see that we'd never get to them all in one short trip.

We ate at a trendy LA restaurant with prices to match. There had been struggles to make ends meet while were growing up but mom's house was paid off now and she made decent money at the law firm. Having been with them for so long, the lawyers there had all agreed that she deserved to share in their yearly profits on top of her salary. She wouldn't have brought us there if she couldn't afford it and I knew better than to make an offer to pay. Cassie looked to me as she read the menu and I gave her a slight nod to let her know it was okay to order whatever she wanted. We enjoyed a great meal together talking about our plans for the next few days. With a guilty look mom admitted she had a problem with her washing machine for me to check for her. Having grown up as the man of the house I was used to fixing things or at least trying before she hired someone. Soon as I agreed to take a look at it for her the following morning she invited Cassie to go shopping with her while I was busy.

"Just let me get changed and I'll meet you in the living room," Cassie said excitedly when we got home. On the drive back Cassie had asked to see some family pictures and mom promised to show her the albums she had stowed away in her closet.

"Good idea," mom said slipping off her heels.

"Are you sure you really want to see them?" I asked in my bedroom as I loosened my tie.

"Of course I want to see them. I bet you were the cutest little baby," she said smiling. "Seeing your pictures will give me an idea of what our baby boys are going to look like."

"With you as their mother they're sure to be adorable," I told her with a kiss.

"Hurry up and get changed," she said having already put a t-shirt on and looking though her suitcase. Seeing her pick a pair of shorts to wear over her panties wasn't a complete surprise, but it did excite me. It told me just how comfortable she felt around my mother already.

"You look so sexy," I said caressing her smooth legs from my seat on the bed.

"Save it for later my love," she said with a promise in her smile. "Now finish getting changed and come look at the pictures with us." I changed into my own shorts and t-shirt and went to the living room sitting on one end of the sofa next to Cassie.

"Do you kids find it too hot here?" mom asked when she saw us in shorts.

"We're fine," Cassie said looking at me to make sure I agreed.

"Well don't be shy about turning on the AC if you want to. Oh my goodness. What happened to your knee Cassie?" mom asked in a concerned voice.

"I had a snowboarding accident," she said not wanting to elaborate.

"She's really self-conscious about it," I explained. "I keep trying to tell her it doesn't matter to me or anyone else."

"I feel bad for asking now," my mother said with a little frown towards Cassie. "I only asked because I was worried about you."

"I know you were Judy. I wouldn't have worn shorts if I was afraid of letting you see it. It's not a problem around people I'm close with," she said smiling at my mom.

"Well I'm glad you didn't feel like you had to hide it around me," mom said sitting down right next to Cassie. "Do you want a drink?"

"That would be nice. Do you have any diet soda?" Cassie asked.

"I don't know a woman who drinks regular," mom said with a little laugh. "Go get us a drink Rick," she said opening the first album on her lap.

"Anything else I can bring you my queens?" I asked as I stood up.

"Just the drinks for now," Cassie said dismissing me with a flick of her hand and a giggle. As I returned to the living room I heard her saying, "Oh look at his cute little bum." It made me stop in my tracks and try to escape. "Come over and sit down with us," Cassie said looking up. "You looked so adorable as a baby," she said hugging me close for a chaste kiss on the cheek.

"Look at this one Cassie," mom said as she turned the page. It was a picture of my sister and I as kids. Susan must have gotten into mom's purse because I had makeup all over my face.

"You didn't tell me your sister did makeovers," Cassie said as they both burst out laughing at me.

Now that she'd seen the worst of them I relaxed and joined in. I could see how much Cassie was enjoying them and quickly lost track of the number of times she said awe and gave me a sweet look. Making jokes about my mother's outdated perm in some of the photos gave me a chance to get some revenge but she took it in stride. There were school pictures, little league pictures, and photos of Susan and I building a huge sand castle on the beach. The ones of me with braces made Cassie tell the story of falling for my smile on the day we met. When she was done mom told her about coming home and catching me with a pair of pliers the day after I got them. I was moments away from another expensive trip to the dentist when she could barely afford the first one. As I got older, there were pictures of my first job as a paperboy, my first day driving a car, and even me with my first real girlfriend. I tried to turn past those ones quickly but Cassie stopped me and gave me another kiss on the cheek asking if I still preferred brunettes.

That was just the album focusing on me. There was another one featuring my sister that I knew she's be horrified to know we looked at. I thought that one would be a lot more fun but there were plenty of us having tea parties with her dolls, playing dress up, and even another one of me wearing make up. Between that and my spooky obsession with Orel Hershiser as a kid it's a wonder I turned out straight. Cassie said she thought it was sweet that I had played with my sister like that. She'd grown up with two older brothers and knew what it was like to have only boys to play with. Susan was four years older than me though and judging by some of the photos it didn't look like I had much choice.

The last one held whatever family pictures mom had of us. It started with wedding pictures I'd never seen before. Mom looked so pretty in her wedding dress that it was hard to believe the smiling young woman with long brown hair was my mother. Cassie said my father looked handsome and she could see where I got my good looks. My mother was smiling and nodding as she said it. Suddenly it occurred to me that maybe a part of her had never stopped loving my father. In the early pictures of mom and dad, she looked as happy as I'd ever seen her. Then there were photos of them with my newborn sister and some of my deceased maternal grandfather Joe Moretti too. Those brought tears to my eyes as I remembered the time he took Susan and I to the zoo in San Diego as kids.

As we turned the pages my sister quickly changed into an adorable little girl. Then there were a few of my mother pregnant with me that led to another batch of photos with the four of us together. Once I was two or three years old, my father vanished from the pictures and mom's smile just wasn't the same anymore. The only time it came close was when we gathered outside Dodger Stadium for a picture before the game each year. In the other pictures there always seemed to be an empty space where my father was supposed to be. I looked over at mom and could see that these pictures brought back painful memories. No wonder she never showed them to me, though she kept on updating the album ending with a picture from last year's game and blank space for many more to come. When we finished with the last album, the room was quiet and I knew Cassie had sensed the change in my mother too.
