The longer I sat in the car the more I missed Cassie. I could never resent her for the idea to forgo sex in the month leading up to our wedding. That didn't make being alone for a whole week yet any easier. Each day without her was difficult but seeing all the naked women at the strip club made me lust for Cassie and turned this into the hardest day by far. I found the easiest way to get my mind off of sex was to start thinking about our busy week. Lost in thinking about all the last minute preparations, including two rehearsals and dinner two nights before the wedding for our closest friends and family, I was startled when I saw lights behind me.

Mr. Dumont was back to drop my mother, Susan, and the sleeping baby off in his son's car. Thankfully my erection was gone at last and I stepped out to meet them giving them the same story about being dizzy. Susan hurried inside with baby Rebecca who was sleeping in her arms. Mom asked if I had fun as we went inside ourselves smiling when I asked her the same without revealing anything. She was willing to tell me how much fun she and Mrs. Dumont had babysitting their grandchildren together but that was it. It was Cassie's choice if she wanted me to know more than that but she suggested I try asking her about the presents she got at the after party Julie hosted when they got back from the bar.

Fortunately sleep came easily after a few stiff drinks from the liquor the guys had left behind. I was ready to subject myself to a cold shower if necessary but I managed to get to sleep without such drastic measures. Cassie would expect me to serve our guests breakfast in the morning like a proper host so I hoped everyone slept in late. As it turned out I managed to wake up first the next morning and was downstairs cooking breakfast for my family in a t-shirt, jogging pants, and my Dodgers cap before I heard anyone. Mom seemed awful happy, humming to herself as she found her way to the kitchen and poured a cup of coffee from the pot I brewed. When I realized she and dad had probably done something when they woke up to put her in such a good mood I intentionally stubbed my toe against the stove to drive those thoughts from my mind.

Susan breastfed her baby daughter before coming downstairs in order to keep dad and I from running for cover. I served plates of breakfast to my house guests as they arrived, waiting until they were all seated and comfortable until I sat down to eat myself. Rather than trying to help, my mother waited until I started to eat before asking me to remind her to thank Cassie for doing such a good job of training me. My family all laughed at her joke and even baby Rebecca giggled, seemingly at her uncle Rick's expense, which might have been the funniest part of it all. Cassie arrived a few minutes after we finished eating. Mom told me to go spend some time with her and she'd clean the kitchen.

"Hi sweetie," I called to her across the room as she hurried towards the stairs. "What's in the box?" I asked.

"Nothing," she said her eyes looking around to see if I was the only one in the room. Whatever was in it, I wasn't supposed to have caught her with it in her hands.

"If it's a surprise for me just say so. I promise I won't go looking for it," I said.

"No these are things the girls gave me last night at the party," she said. "Come with me and I'll show you." I followed her upstairs and into the master bedroom. The box didn't look heavy so I didn't mind letting her carry it. "Close the door," she said setting the box on the bed. The contents of the box were intriguing to me but the moment we were alone the guilt from seeing strippers the night before overwhelmed me.

"They took me to a strip club last night..."

"I know," she said.

"I didn't want to go in but it was your father who... wait... you said you knew already?" I asked.

"Yes. When Marc mentioned that you didn't want any strippers for your party I told him they should take you anyway," she said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because I don't want to be remembered as the wife who forced her husband to have a lame bachelor party," she said smiling at me.

"But they knew I really didn't want it," I said.

"Some of them might have but most people wouldn't believe that for a second. So you saw a few naked women last night. It's not like your going to marry one of them now. Or are you?" she asked jokingly.

"I kept comparing them to you until I was imaging you dancing in their place. That's what made me so horny last night," I said. "If you had been here I would have fucked you silly last night."

"Oh Dickie why did you have to say that?" she said pouncing into my arms. Our kisses were frenzied as we tumbled onto the bed. My cock grew hard instantly and I could feel the heat of her body seeping through her clothes. I didn't have the will power to stop myself but she did. "Wait we can't, there's less than a week to go now," she said kissing me again. "I have a confession to make too," she said rolling off of me with a rueful look in her eyes.

"Let me guess the girls took you to see male strippers last night," I said.

"How did you know that?" she asked.

"It was part of the talk your father used to convince me to go into the club. He told me the girls would probably drag you to a strip club too," I explained. "Did you like it?" I asked.

"I hated it," she said giggling at my smile.

"Was it that bad?" I asked.

"No I suppose not," she said thinking back. "They thought they were so hot and all the other women at the bar were screaming and going crazy for them. One of them winked at me and handed me a piece of paper with his hotel name and room number before we left."

"Was he any good and more importantly did he have a bigger cock than me?" I asked laughing when spanked my ass playfully.

"I'm sure he was crushed when I didn't show up. I thought about giving it to one of the crazy screaming ladies but I just threw it away instead. They were so ridiculous looking all tanned up..."

"I have a tan," I reminded her.

"Yes but yours is a sexy one, these guys were almost orange. They all had these big muscles and got oiled up before coming out to dance. Like those gross bodybuilders you see on TV sometimes," she said. "Oh and I almost forgot they were completely shaved from head to toe. Who wants a man like that?" she asked tugging at the neck of my shirt until my chest hair peeked out.

"Thankfully not you," I said smiling at her. "I guess it wasn't as bad as either of us thought."

"No it wasn't," she said. "If we ever go again I think I'd rather see women dancers with you. At least there I could learn something new I can use when I take my lingerie off for you."

"Sweetie," I said in strained voice.

"Oh sorry," she said staring at the bulge in my pants. For a moment it looked like she was going to fuck me and I wouldn't have had the strength to stop her but she sat up moving away from the dangerous temptation of my obviously hard cock. "If we stay in her much longer everyone will think we're breaking in our new bed."

"Wait you still didn't show me what the girls gave you last night," I said when she got up off the bed.

"See for yourself," she said pointing at the box. I peeked inside and my eyes grew wide. It was filled with sex toys of all shapes and sizes. My mind was torn between thinking Cassie would never use these and wanting to be the one to use them on her.

"I can picture the look on your face now," I said smiling at her. "Did they get a bulk discount or something?" I asked.

"Probably," she said giggling.

"Well I think we can have some fun with these. It would be a shame to let them go to waste," I said

"We can try them but there's no way we're keeping them all," she said laughing when I held up a long rubbery one that flopped over under its own weight. I hid the box in the back of our spacious closet for now and realized I had another question.

"Why did you bring them back here right away?" I asked.

"Matthew overheard his mom teasing me about all my new toys this morning and asked if he could play with them too," she said smiling. "You should have seen Julie's face when I said I'd show them to him later. I had to bring them here in case he went looking for them. Which reminds me, I need to buy something for him to play with later."

We shared a laugh about it as we headed back downstairs to entertain our house guests. Cassie felt horrible when she found my mother cleaning the kitchen for us but she smiled sweetly when mom said it was practice for when she came to visit her son and daughter in law in the future. I offered to cook breakfast for Cassie but she had already eaten at her brother's house. She did let me make her the first cup of tea she ever drank in our new home though. I told her about the money I won at the casino and how she brought me good luck at the roulette table. Cassie said she knew what we should do with the money and my sister laughed saying she was already starting to think like a wife.

Cassie's idea was for us to buy a barbecue today and invite the entire bridal party over for dinner. I though it was a perfect idea. It would give everyone a chance to see the house before they left for home after the wedding. We called to invite people first, Cassie dialing on her cell phone and me with the house phone. Once we'd invited everyone Cassie found some paper and began writing up a grocery list. It was my job to buy the barbecue and get it set up on time so I used my laptop to search online and found that the nearby Home Depot had a wide selection to choose from.

My father and I would go pick one up ready to pay cash using my casino winnings. At the same time, Cassie was heading to the grocery store for everything we needed to host an impromptu barbecue for our friends and family. My mother and sister would accompany her to help with the grocery shopping while Brian stayed home with the baby. I gave Cassie ten crisp hundred-dollar bills from my gambling winnings to pay for the food and she looked at me like I was insane. The food wouldn't cost anywhere near that much but I didn't want her to skimp at all as we hosted our first get together at our new home. She could use the rest for wedding expenses that were sure to come up during the week. I would have given her even more but I wanted to make sure I had enough for the biggest and best grill available.

We headed to the Home Depot and made a beeline for the barbecue section. I spent some time looking at the features and warranties of the various models. It didn't take long for me to decide on one of the high end propane grills. There were still several models to choose from and after carefully reading the features once more I bought the one with the most grilling space. It came with a cover to protect it from the elements but we had to buy the propane tanks separately. We also picked up a set of their matching cooking utensils and cleaning brushes for the grill. I couldn't think of anything else we needed so we made our way to the checkout and squeezed it into dad's rental car before heading home with my new favorite toy.

The girls weren't back from the grocery store yet so dad and I took the new barbecue to the patio on back of the house. We began setting it up immediately and had it running in no time. Brian came out back to sit down with the baby as we left the burners on for a bit to make sure it worked fine. Rebecca was drinking from her bottle contently and looking around at the bright green grass from the fresh sod that had been laid earlier in the week. We were the only ones to have moved into our house yet but all around us there were new homes nearing completion. Most of them had already been sold from what the developer told us and Cassie was anxiously waiting to meet our neighbors. As the first people in the neighborhood Cassie felt we were obligated to welcome the new people as they moved in, something she would have done regardless of when we moved in.

They arrived about an hour later and found us sitting outside still enjoying the bright sunny day. Rebecca had fallen asleep in Brian's arms shortly before they got home. Susan scooped her up and took her upstairs where she could take her nap in the comfort of her travel crib. Cassie complimented us on our choice of grills and watched closely as I showed her all the fancy features. There was enough grilling space to feed a large crowd and that was the most important thing. I told her how much I'd spent on it and she thought it was little expensive. She knew I loathed wasting money which meant it had to be worth every penny.

Cassie asked if I could help bring everything in from the car when I finished showing off the grill. She had bought more than just groceries while she was out. First they had gone the home decorating store for two more sets of dishes so no one would have to wait to eat. They also went to the liquor store where Cassie picked out several bottles of wine, plus an assortment of beer and stronger drinks. It was enough to well stock our downstairs bar, especially when combined with what the guys left behind the night before. She even managed to squeeze in a quick stop to buy the toys she had promised her nephew. There were bags upon bags of groceries to bring in too but between dad, Brian, and myself we got it all inside in just two trips. Cassie was putting things away as quickly as she could and already starting on food preparation. I filled our cooler with one of the two large bags of ice she bought and loaded it with beer.

It was going to be my job to grill the meat but that wasn't until our guests arrived. Cassie had bought enough chicken breasts that our guests could have their choice and she had also picked up two whole pacific salmon that she stuffed, basted, and wrapped in foil to be grilled later. Between Cassie, my mother, Susan, and myself, we made a good start on the preparations before people started to arrive. Her parents along with Marc, Julie, the kids, and Jana who was staying with them arrived at the same time in two separate cars. There was no talking her mother or sister in law out of helping but Cassie told Jana she could stay and talk with them in the kitchen only if she didn't get her hands dirty.

I was sent off to entertain our guests and answer the door when the others arrived. Jay was the next to show up, without Tamara again, but he had picked up their cousins Melanie and Kirsten who were two of Cassie's bridesmaids. I had met both girls in Whistler at the Dumont family home. Melanie had brought her boyfriend Andy along, who I hadn't met yet. I shook his hand suggesting he might want to head downstairs where Marc and my father were breaking in our pool table. Neither of the girl's parents could make it so there were a few less guests than originally anticipated.

Downstairs again, I took drink orders from our guests and ran upstairs to bring down some cold beer with Jay coming along to help me. I stocked the bar with our newly purchased booze and told everyone to help themselves once it was time for me to cook. Literally seconds after I sat down to relax and watch the guys play some pool, the doorbell rang again and I raced back upstairs to answer it practically colliding with Cassie who came running out from the kitchen. It was Lei and Tim, who had picked up Greg, Miguel, and Anita at their hotel before coming over. Anita was notoriously shy around strangers, so much so that she had stayed at the hotel rather than going to Cassie's bachelorette party the night before. I tried to convince her to leave Miguel's side to meet the women of our families by saying there was no way they could be worse than Greg. She smiled but it was Cassie who convinced her by saying if she came to the kitchen she'd get to see the babies too.

Some of the guests broke off into a third group in the main floor living room. Lei finally got to introduce Tim to Jana and Greg stayed to meet her too. They were something more than friends with benefits now but neither of them would call the other their boyfriend or girlfriend. I'd given up trying to figure it out. They both knew Cassie and I thought they made a great couple but it was up to Tim and Lei what became of their strange long distance relationship. Melanie and Andy joined the younger crowd in the living room too along with Jay who told me he'd make sure to keep their drinks filled while I went back downstairs with Miguel who was interested in seeing our pool table.

It wasn't long until Cassie called me to the grill handing me a fresh beer and following behind me with the first tray of bruschetta to be grilled. It cooked quickly but as fast as they came off the grill Cassie was delivering platters to our guests as appetizers. Everyone was mingling in three different locations throughout the house now and seemed to be having a good time. We found ourselves alone for a few minutes Cassie standing close to me letting me drape my arm over her shoulder as we watched the latest batch of bruschetta cook. Our first party at our new home was looking like a resounding success, as if there was any other possibility with Cassie in charge of planning it. She stayed with me long enough for us to eat a piece of bruschetta each and gave me a kiss before she left with a fresh tray.

Mr. Dumont joined me on the patio a short time later saying he had to come see the grill after hearing about it from my father. I could tell he was impressed with the barbecue I'd bought but his smile told me he was proud of a lot more than that. With the wedding less than a week away now, he seemed completely at ease knowing his only daughter was marrying a man he had learned to trust. The baseball season was well underway now and though he wasn't a huge fan, especially since the demise of the Montreal Expos, he seemed to be taking an interest in the Dodgers almost as a courtesy to me. Cassie told her father how much the team meant to me, and her now too, comparing my love for the Dodgers to the way he felt about the Montreal Canadiens. Our star closer Eric Gagne was French Canadian and Mr. Dumont always asked me how he was doing whenever we talked baseball.

I heard the screen door slide and glanced up to see Cassie poke her head out. Her father was in the middle of a story about the heyday of the Expos that made her smile at us without interrupting. Seeing her father and I growing closer always made her day. When he was done she asked if I could start grilling the meat for dinner. I told her I'd be happy to and that with her father there to guide me everything would turn out perfect. It was something I said jokingly because he was there as our guest not our chef but I could see that it touched him. Mr. Dumont definitely knew his way around a grill and he was happy to pass some of his family secrets down to me.

The smell of charring meat brought each of the other men out for a peek eventually. They'd stay for a few minutes at a time and wander off again. Mr. Dumont was an intimidating man until you got to know him. Outside of his sons, most of the men seemed a little uncomfortable around him, sensing they were interfering with his barbecuing tutelage when in truth he barely noticed them. My father he welcomed warmly and the three of us drank a beer as we watched the steaks and chicken sizzle. Cassie's father knew exactly how long the steak, chicken, and fish needed to cook. With his guidance everything was ready to come off the grill at the same time.

Moments after the meat was done Cassie had the baked potatoes out of the oven and set on the kitchen island along with the salads they had prepared earlier, a large frying pan of sauteed onions and mushroom with a little Worcestershire sauce on them, and fresh rolls from the in store bakery at the grocery store. Given the choice Cassie would have personally served each person herself but it was much more practical to let everyone grab a plate and walk around the kitchen island helping themselves to whatever they wanted. Even with our large dining room table that could seat twelve and the kitchen nook with space for six more around its circular table, we still ran out of space.
