Nothing Like a Family Vacation Ch. 01

"Kiss me," Gregg said.

I stood still for a moment; part of me wanted to tell him no, and the other part wanted to kiss him. The other part won. I tiptoed and kissed him. He held me tight and grabbed my ass, pulling me towards him.

I felt like I was a young teen again. Who would have thought it?

"Stop," I said as I pulled away. I put my head against his broad chest, my hand patting his arm. "I can't," I nodded as I stepped back. "I want to, but I can't," I said again, more to myself than him.

"Understood," Gregg nodded.

"Thank you," I nodded as I walked towards the hotel door. "Thank you so much!"

Christmas morning came, and we all met in our hotel living room to open presents. I smiled at Gregg, who smiled and nodded back. I told Tony I had met a few old friends from high school. Gregg had said he went on a date with some hot snow bunny.

The laughter filled the room as people opened gifts and sang Christmas songs. The hotel room service brought up our pre-ordered Christmas breakfast. We sat, sang, and laughed for most of the day before hitting the slopes again.

At the dinner downstairs, we shared our table with a couple from out of state, it was joyful, and I forgot about Tony and our impending divorce. I told him last night I wouldn't be forced into a corner, and he told me he wanted no part of me if I couldn't accept all of him.

Gregg passed me in the hallway and stopped me. "Look up," he said.

"Well," I said, looking at the mistletoe. "I can't break the rule, can I?"

"Nope," Gregg said.

We kissed deeply and long. I wanted time to stop right then and there, but it didn't. We quickly stopped as we heard Katy coming around the corner.

"Bye, Mom," she cried as she hugged me.

"Drive safe," I said as I said goodbye to them, including a long hug that lasted too long when I hugged Gregg. I told him Thank you again as he got in the car.

It left Tony and me alone again. I looked at him and smiled. "Who should file?"

"I can do it," Tony said.

"Good," I replied.

I felt my lips as I walked back inside. A long smile crept over my face as I looked at my phone.

'See you next year?' a text read from Gregg.

'Much sooner than that,' I replied. 'A lot sooner!'
