Click hereHe took me in his truck back down the road to my abandoned car. We poured the petrol into the tank and then he got in the passenger seat out of the rain.
"That should be enough to get you to Greymouth in this," he said.
"Yeah, thanks. How much do I owe you?"
"Oh nothing. It's my pleasure to help a stranded motorist," he said smiling.
I leant across and we hugged and kissed again in the little car. The windows quickly fogged up. We exchanged numbers in case I was ever in his neighbourhood again or he was ever in Sydney and then we kissed goodbye.
He followed me in his truck until he got to his farm driveway. He honked his horn and turned off. I honked mine and drove on.
