I did enjoy shopping for the bridal ensemble from Victoria's Secret.
Look, I've seen the pictures. I was a cover girl quality gorgeous bride. And I was glowing. If you took my best moments as Jason...winning the state math Olympiad, hitting a walk off homer in my junior year, getting laid for the first time, getting accepted into my first choice college, and even the day I met Danny, and rolled them into one bright light, they still would get eclipsed by my wedding day...and night. Oh yeah, we were now used to each other. I could make him cum two to three times a night and he returned the favor by producing four or five orgasms.
Six months later, I peed on a little plastic contraption and learned that I could never go back to being Jason, and I was pregnant. Today, I'm lying on our couch, ignoring a baseball game on TV. I'm fat, I'm slow, I'm hideous, and I'm happier than I've ever been.

GynoidG1R1almost 3 years agoI think this is a beautiful story and it perfectly captures my struggles with gender identity, intense feelings for male friends, and desire to be a complete woman. What attracts women like me to X-Change stories is escapism from the realities of the limitations we can do with the bodies we were born into. That we can become the hot woman we dreamed we could be. That we can switch off the artificial dominance that we've developed as a survival mechanism and be the personality (sexually and otherwise) we feel more comfortable with. And yes even become a mother.
Gender dysphoria is not a well paved highway with everyone traveling the same direction. Each journey to our trans-self is different and unique. Everyone is entitled to their stories and fantasies without being kink shamed. Even if the dream is to become a "Stepford wife" married to a lawyer, pregnant on the couch.
There is no bigotry here; just a story that needs editing. There's some issues of transition, "telling instead of showing", and punctuation. But these can be easily fixed and your skill will shine through with the brightness of Jaci on her wedding day.
You have an amazing plot and in Jason and Danny you have strong characters that drew me into the story and invested me into them. If you worked with an editor (and I'd volunteer to help) you have the basis for at least two (maybe three) novels.

Anonymousalmost 4 years agoChapter 01 had its issues but also had some real potential.
Chapter 02 squandered all of it. Building towards a dime store romance novel ending, this took all of the attempt to rethink gender and the connection to sexuality and reduced it into little more than a recitation of gender essentialism.
First, there is a Stepford Wife vibe going on– the dominant promiscuous male becoming the submissive trophy and sextoy of their partner– a theme shared by the main character and our good doctor.
Second, there's the convoluted tap-dancing around any whiff of homosexual attraction (never mind that it must have been one hell of a bromance to make Jase so easily persuaded into becoming Jaci).
Underneath both ideas is the concept that the shape of the body determines the shape of the mind. A heterosexual man x-changed into a woman's body must become a heterosexual woman, never mind a lifetime of experiences that say otherwise, utlimately causing him to experience profound gender dysphoria. So not only is this a fetishization of trans people, who are made palatable because they're x-changed into 'real' women, but this is also homophobic, because the only way that Jase could act on an attraction that must have been there when he was entirely male is to become permanently female.
A 'A' for effort and for the high-concept and trying to be inclusive, an 'F' for gussying up bigotry instead.
