The State of Louisiana has filed a $12 million lawsuit against the owners of the salt domes and petroleum storage areas. More to come is the bet of everyone in the area.
On any given day a visitor to the dangerously unstable area might wait for the whirlpool to reappear with its grisly sloppy, sucking sounds, but there are no guarantees.
The pit is quiet.
