"Briggs here. You have an update for me, captain?" the rotund man questioned.
"Indeed, I do, sir! I can say with absolute certainty where the Darkstrider has gone," the captain of the pirate ship replied.
"Where have they gone?" Briggs asked, leaning forward in his excitement.
"The Abandoned Frontier. I have no idea why they'd choose to go to that shithole, but based on their trajectory, it's where they went," the man reported.
"I take it you are not in those systems? The people of those worlds don't take kindly to strangers poking around in their affairs," the voice of Jolena Sortani carried through the line.
"No, ma'am. We are coasting through an independent system, making it seem like we're a bunch of kids off on a joyride," the captain responded.
"Excellent! Hold to that ruse for now. I have a plan for tracking down these people and dealing with them. The situation they will soon find themselves in will make them wish they never deigned to stand against us! Do you understand your orders?" she queried, walking into the holo with Briggs and looking the captain in the eye.
"Aye, ma'am!"
"Good. Ensure your cover stays intact. We will be in touch," the Rondathan woman stated before she killed the line.

And that's the end of chapter 37! The pieces continue to move towards an inevitable confrontation, but the outcome of it is still unknown! With even more enemies closing in and the mysterious motives of the Confederacy, things are certainly up in the air now! With the pirates planning out some ungodly things, you know that shit is about to get real! How everything transpires when they land, well, as always, stay tuned to find out!

Raka1017 months agoTrying to understand how sargol knows what is happening on the ship. He knew they were transporting the prisoner to the jail and had time to let Matthis know and set up a diversion. If the Dr is a spy how can tlshe radio him without the ship knowing it. Doesnt fit
Michael56Smith7 months agothe deputy, Willem, was shot by Sargol, ... and the loudmouth got away, ... and things are coming together with the pirates too, they are tracking the Darkstrider down, ... so look out, the bad guys are getting all excited, ... Matheus is going to break his boys out of jail using an Aether portal, ... Captain Min is getting the range rovers ready for a rough trip, ... and Is Gloria going better or worse than Matheus? more Prodosa hijinks next chapter, ... ;-) ttfn

Anonymousover 1 year agoI believe that a good story line would be, Korsa ending up pregnant by Alex. The Aether power that the five share should interfere with Korsa"s problem that her homeworld doctors diagnosis. The child could be either sex and look like her and be raised by the crew.
Michael56Smithover 1 year agoI am on a re-read of these chapters, and they are still VERY enjoyable, also I see now where a number of your dropped hints were taking the crew, ... My personal favorites are the ship's sophisticated AI, along with the VI's that are developing into AIs, and the Sentry 'bots which are all marvelously depicted, ... thank you for sharing, ... ;-) TTFN
