Thoroughly engaging. It paints a picture of slavery as a business and cultural model instead of the usual sexual fantasy. Women becoming slaves to avoid starvation and destitution in a hard unforgiving world. It's cruel, but also practical. Likeable characters too. Great stuff.

Just finished reading your chapter and the comment by Gortmundy. They have stated my thoughts better than I could. Slavery in this story isn't ideal but sometimes may be better than the alternative, something I've never really thought about.

I like how you write about the mundane things in your story. Little details that are usually skipped. Worrying about how to feed the slaves, where each one will sleep and with who. Just well thought out.

I completely agree with the two previous commentators. This is as it really could have been, except that we are graciously spared the hard fate of the less 'fortunate' slaves.

This story is a good read. While it doesn't have much in the way of action, and only a modicum of sex, it is a very interesting and entertaining read. Thank you, RachaelJane!
