I like the idea of having short glimpses that connect your stories into a larger series with Mizrah at the center - it's as if we are following his life from different perspectives, through the eyes of different characters.

The taboo of wanting to have it all was well-described here. And considering the peculiar nature of these creatures, I would say that she might have what she wants. The moral quandary, self-doubt, and self-loathing are so palpable in your writing, and the pacing and inner monologue feel natural. Those flashbacks are a nice touch, like memories encircling her as she ponders her own predicament.
