Chapter 22

Readers, this a fictional road story set in the 1980's, before cell phones and the internet as we know it today. There is pot smoking and use of "Magic Mushrooms" in this story. Molly and Katy awoke at the same time, hearing Hailey flush the toilet and head back to rejoin Irv, who had already returned from his trip. They smiled at the other over Lou's chest and yawned as he slept peacefully. Katy was first up and was just finishing as Molly came in to take her place on the toilet.

Once she was up, they hugged and gave each other a kiss and went back to the bed holding hands. Lou was half awake and went for a quick trip as they waited for him to return and lay between them again. Like Hailey had said, it was strangely natural looking and feeling for them to just fall into this type of sleeping arrangement from their first night together, and the women noticed they slept on the same side each time. Molly on his right and Katy on his left. Neither understood why but it did feel comfortable to all involved.

As Molly and Katy returned to sleep their dreams joined to give them a greater understanding of the bond all three shared.

Molly and Katy awoke in a room and place new to both of them. Above them about six feet were arched rib bones of a great animal supporting thick branches and a hide cover over them. Looking down from the platform where they slept the room stretched about eight feet wide and twenty or more feet beyond their bed until a hide covered entrance in the smoky lamplight. They appeared to be at the back of the shelter.

Along the walls, on small, raised platforms, covered in warm looking furs, at least a dozen children of ages from toddlers to about twelve were sleeping. Between Molly and Katy, Lou was sleeping under many furry and very warm hides.

The women sat up quietly and looked at the other naked and very different in this time. Molly looked older and Katy looked a little younger. Both were thinner and had long hair in a cross between braids and dreadlocks. They smiled at the other with their yellow teeth looking down at Lou with his long, dark red beard that had a few greys now mixed in.

At the same moment both women pointed to their swollen bellies. Katy looked to be about six months pregnant, and Molly was looking like she was over eight months gone and a little milk was leaking from her engorged breasts.

Molly went to say something softly but could not form the words she wanted. They held the others hand for a moment and Molly felt her child move and kick in her as Katy looked at her own belly with a smile.

Katy's still ice blue eyes looked at Molly's brown ones, as she let go of her hand saying as best, she could. "Sleep."

Lou of the past opened his own deep blue eyes briefly and looked upon the two women he cared for so deeply as they smiled at him, and they put their hands to his eyes to shut them as they all went to sleep for a little while longer.

In the shelter next to the tribe's leader and his family. The Green-eyed Shaman of their people slept fitfully as she dreamed of strange white caves with flat stone walls and plants, animals, and things she did not understand, painted all over the walls.

Other dreams were of great gatherings of huge tribes of uncountable numbers in shelters that could move. There were strange sounds around her and much food cooking with no great fight for it. She wished she could understand more of this and use it to help her people.

The wakeup call at 8:30 was a bit of a shock to all as Hailey was able to get it before the third ring.

Molly and Katy looked over at the other with their eyes wide and looked down at Lou with a light three-day beard to go with the Fu Manchu.

"Welcome back to 1987 Katy. That was a strange dream! I need to write that down quickly."

"Me too Molly. That may explain some things."

Lou took a moment to sort out being awake and the talk that was going on over his chest. "Did I wake up a little after we went and peed in the middle of the night and you two closed my eyes again with your hands."

"Yes, we did Lou." Was all Molly said as her and Katy were writing quickly in the notebooks Star told them they needed to sleep with nearby for dreams like this or any others they felt were noteworthy.

Lou thought for a moment and took his own notebook out and wrote of his going back to sleep but waking briefly and having the two women close his eyes after he saw a huge rib bone and hides several feet above his head. Molly looked older and Katy was younger and thinner, but still large breasted. He had felt their large bellies against him and suspected both were pregnant.

He was not sure how but again he had slept beside Molly for almost two months and knew her body well.

Katy always felt very different next to Lou, on his other side, and the Katy in the dream was very different then the Katy now. She was much softer now and her belly felt much different in the past then now.

By 9:30 all they were in the hotel restaurant finishing breakfast and all reluctantly getting ready to hit the road. Hailey, and Katy were going to drop Irv off at his job for a half a day and so he could bring his car home. Lou and Molly had set up a reservation at a hotel four-hundred and eighty miles from this one. It had a pool they would love in it's hot southwest setting the clerk who used to work there told them.

Irv had shown them routes on their maps that were good highways that kept them away from the cities on their way to their stop today. They hoped to make good time and had Andromeda packed and ready to go.

It was deep hugs and kisses in the parking lot after a joint in the hotel room and deep kisses between the five lovers. Molly promised to call from Arizona and Delaware when they got to the Atlantic coast.

Neither Lou or Molly could really believe they had been away for over a month and all they had experienced in their time since they dropped Sara off in Harrisburg. They all met again five miles down the road at the gas station just before the interstate and they again said goodbye for now as Irv turned north and Lou went southwest.

Both were a little sad and quiet for a little while after leaving their friends. Traffic cleared soon and Molly got out a joint to share half of with their windows open and the sun warming their ride.

Three hours later Molly took over and had them pulling into a Pizza Hut at three for a late lunch and some leftovers for later in the room. With well under two hundred miles left Lou got them to the hotel for seven and in fifteen minutes they were changing into their swimsuits for an hour relaxing in the pool before a late dinner and drinks at the hotel restaurant.

After eating they went up to the bar for a second drink and to chat some more with the friendly staff and watch some of the ballgame. At ten they headed to their room with a light buzz and very tired from the last few days of fun of many kinds.

They took a long and tender shower together, but both were good with a night off from any real sex. If they woke up hungry in the night that would be good, but right now a couple of slices of cold pizza and a little tv and a weather update were all that were needed. A six-thirty wakeup call had been requested, so they could meet up with Felix at George's shop in Tucson and then drive to Sierra Vista and check into the hotel for the night.

They were startled awake at wakeup call from the desk, having slept through the night, almost eight hours. Neither had realized just how tired they were after the last few days and weeks. Their brains needed the rest as much as their bodies.

After getting ready and a quick breakfast they were on the road before seven-thirty. Molly took the first leg for three hours before a quick stop and Lou doing another three until almost one for a drive through and more gas for lunch.

Less than three hours later Molly was pulling Andromeda into a parking spot in front of George's shop, and both were happy to get out and stretch for a minute before going in.

They had about eight hundred square feet of sales floor with many display cases of rocks, minerals, and crystals from around the world. There was also a very large selection of jewelry and many locally made musical instruments, arts, and crafts for sale.

They could hear rock tumblers, saws, and other machinery from the back room that had to be twice as large as the sales floor, Lou guessed from the outside of the single-story building.

George called out for Felix to come out from the back room to join them as he came around from behind the counter to greet them.

"Hi guys, glad to see you are here. You made good time." George said with a wide smile as he came to shake both of their hands. His wife, Linda came out came out to see them seconds later, with Felix behind her, while his father was watching all while he was talking with a customer. For a month they had heard about the "Hippy Couple" who were going to go dig with Felix and Marta for a few days.

Both Lou and Molly had dressed "normally" today in just t-shirts and shorts for the hot drive and had not smoked after lunch, so they were not high for this important meeting. Felix and his mom came to greet them, and George went to get the phone as Linda got to know them and they showed them their store, the family had owned for over seventy years at this location.

"Marta has work until ten tonight and I am going back to meet her before then and I know you have to check into your hotel at some point. We close here at six and I will go to eat at my parents' house before going to Sierra Vista to meet Marta and we can either meet again or in the morning. Can you find her apartment again?" Felix asked.

Lou and Molly looked at each other and laughed saying they had only walked there once and said they would need some directions.

They didn't say in front of Felix's parents that both had been tripping heavily when they had walked to and from her place the one time.

Felix led them on a tour of their operations and showed them some tools they could add to what they had already as Lou picked up a three-pound short sledgehammer and some chisels he did not have in his own tools to borrow.

Felix showed them a place where they could safely store some of their stuff if they wanted too. Lou thanked him but after talking with Molly all they would have left would be one of the grills and a few other things. They had enough space, it was weight they were worried about and what they would leave would not amount to much, and Tucson could be very out of the way on their return trip west.

Lou, Molly, and Felix had a long talk with his grandfather who had the turquoise claim and told them who to see before going there in the town on the reservation and then where to dig for the best quality showing them a few pictures from there.

Lou brought Andromeda to a side loading door, and they put a few tools and about thirty buckets for what they might collect over the next few days, and they would not blow out of the station wagon unlike the pickup truck bed Felix was driving there. It was a white and sun-bleached blue1972 Ford F-150 and that was in good shape and soon both veteran vehicles were loaded with all they might need.

Molly was talking with Linda as she showed her their shop and they talked of the cross-country trip they had been on.

"Back when George and I were just married in the late sixties we saw the Grateful Dead and went a few times when they were nearby in the seventies. I don't blame you for taking the adventure while you are young and can have some fun and see the world. We are lucky to get away for a weekend here and there."

She then looked over her shoulder to make sure no one else could hear the two women talking and half whispered to Molly. "Now at least with Felix and his sister at away at school George and I can smoke a joint and have a quiet night together." She said with a wink.

Molly thought to herself, her and April would get along well.

She laughed as quietly as she could and said she would have something for her before they left tonight and took Felix away for a few days. After a customer came in Linda went to wait on Molly went to Andromeda to move her back to the parking lot and rolled up a fat joint for Linda with the purple weed.

A little later, Molly asked to see some crystals in the back and Linda went with her and Molly palmed her the bomber saying. "Best weed we have seen on tour in the two months out there. Be a little careful. Do three hits with George if all's quiet and see how the night goes from there."

"Thanks Molly I will. Please stay safe out there with Felix and Marta."

"We will. No drinking and driving for us and Lou and I mostly just smoke, nothing hard or bad like coke."

"I can tell you two are good kids and I hope all of you do well and we'll all make money in the long run."

She then turned to George and his father talking. "Hey honey. Let's take everyone out to eat so I don't have to cook." She gave him a smile and a wink to let him know it would be worth it later when they had the house to themselves for the next few nights.

Molly asked to use their phone to call Darcy to let them know they would be there in a couple of days and ask if she needed anything from any stores they might see.

They caught Darcy just before she closed up and she asked for a couple of boxes of her favorite cookies and few other things from a big grocery store, and a ten pack of small socks for herself. Molly already planned to stop for a bottle of Wild Turkey for her flask on the way.

At six they locked everything up for the night and headed out to a nearby nice family restaurant Linda liked. It was a good time for the large party, and all chatted and talked more of their plans for the next few months and how they would sell the rocks they got.

All got on well at dinner and were sad they had to get going by seven, but Lou, Molly and Felix all needed to stop at supermarket for the trip and then drive to Sierra Vista. It was all hugs, handshakes, and wishes for safe travels and Felix promising to call tonight when they got to Marta's around 10:30 and tomorrow when they were at the hotel safe after their trip for the turquoise.

Molly and Lou said they both had to check in with their families tomorrow night too, and soon all were off to the store for Lou, Molly, and Felix.

Linda was glad George's folks did not decide to stop over after dinner, as she had some plans for some special after dinner fun with her husband after a few hits from what Molly had called the "Purple Weed" joint.

They got Darcy a large bottle of Wild Turkey at the Liquor store in the same plaza as the large grocery store where they stocked up on food, snacks, everything Darcy asked for and about twenty gallons of water between the two vehicles, and more windshield washer fluid to cut the dirt that was already coating the white wagon again a light beige in places.

They followed Felix in his truck all the way to Sierra Vista and he led them straight to their hotel so they could check in and all ran for the bathroom and took a minute to relax before they went to where Marta worked.

"Do you have any pot, Felix?" Lou asked as they relaxed and waited for Molly to finish up a quick change.

"We have a little, but it is not too good. How are you guys? I can call someone I know and see what's around if you like."

"No, we have a good amount, and we were wondering if you two might like to do some mushrooms with us. We got lucky before the last show and got a half of some that looked good and were a real good price. We had not planned on doing any for a while after an intense trip we took about a week and a half ago, but these were too good deal to pass up. Got the whole half for $120.00."

Molly came out dressed in her favorite skirt and one of her smaller blue-green tie-dyes for their quick stop out, and likely a short visit over Marta's apartment. It was about twenty past nine when they got to where Marta worked. It was a quiet Tuesday night and they all got to hang out at the bar, and they ordered a large plate of fries to share at the bar while Molly had a drink and Lou a soda.

"It's awesome to see you two again as she gave Felix a quick kiss and made Molly a strong cocktail. I should be done here in about half an hour, and we can go hang out for a little while at my place. I know you two have driven a lot today and must be beat."

"What time do you guys want to meet up tomorrow before we head out. We are all packed and ready to go since we only brought up a few bags to our room." Lou said.

"I know Felix is anxious to get to the digs and he had us packed up two days ago. We will have the truck loaded by seven and be ready to hit the road if that works for you two."

"We'll buy you breakfast at the hotel for seven if that's good with you. There might not be more than some quick hot dogs on the grill for lunch." Lou joked.

"I love it guys. We will see you for seven in the lobby." Felix said finishing his drink and paying for all of them.

They let Marta clean up and get ready to leave for a few minutes after ten and they went for the quick ride all piled into Felix's truck. Once they got to her apartment, they went up to smoke a joint and chat for a few minutes before he would drive them back to the hotel for the night.

When they got into her place Marta went to do a quick change and Molly went to use the bathroom off the bedroom as both women got a quick moment to talk. "I am so glad you two made it here Molly. We played phone tag most of the time with answering machines. I can't wait to see how the next few days go, and I have talked with Felix, and he is anxious to see how everything goes tomorrow, both digging during the day and with all of us at night."

"I am too Marta. We have had some interesting times in the last few weeks and there are things I want to talk with you about when we have some quiet time, like that dream we shared just after we met."

"I Know Molly. I have dreamed of that time before and others."

"Lou, I, and others are deeply involved in project that is about a time far in the past where at least six of us are connected in that time and we think a seventh may join us, our friend Sara has showed up in a dream of Lou's in that time but in a different place. I woke up ten minutes to early that morning."

Marta distracted Molly's train of thought as she quickly took off her white work blouse and bra, tossing them into a corner, unwanted for the next few days, and pulled an old t-shirt out of the drawer, making sure Molly got a look at her high and firm 34 B breasts and her hard dark brown nipples.

Molly could feel hers harden and after listening to the men for a moment to make sure they were busy; she lifted her own shirt to give Marta a preview of her firm 36C's and big pink nipples jutting out to say hello and hope for her to be suckling them within twenty-four hours.

Both women fought to keep this from going further too soon. Tomorrow after a good day getting to know each other better and having a whole night together would be better.

Felix had called his parents quickly as Lou packed a bowl with the new red and green weed, he got for the last of the petrified wood and soon all were good and baked and Lou told them about the mushrooms they had and showed them the bag.

"If we find a good place to trip safely, I am all in for giving these a try while they are still really fresh. I think they were picked only a week ago."

All got a first real good look at the large half ounce and agreed that this could be a lot of fun if they knew the right spot.
