Road Tripping Pt. 23.5 - Side Trip Pt. 01

"What are you guys going to do with something that big and heavy?" Maggie asked Felix handing him up a milk crate.

"I told my dad about it, and he said grandpa has a big enough saw to cut into slabs if he thinks it is solid enough. He has not had anything this large to work with in a long time he said so we will see when I get back to Tucson. If not, it will likely stay in one piece to sell."

"I will have to see some pictures when it is done, or Donna and I will definitely stop in at your families store next time we are out this way and we will tell our friends know about it."

"Thanks Maggie. I will feel a little sad to see it cut but it has some cool colors on the three ends so it should have really good colors and if it survives the cutting each slab will be about half an inch thick and translucent. I think we could get six or more good ones and we would build special mounts and lights for them to sell. I will ask for us to keep one for Marta and I for our home when we have one officially, although it would look good in her apartment." He said with a smile at her as she listened to what he said and smiled back, at the talk of their home together.

Maggie could see that even though they were young, they were a good match for each other like Lou and Molly were. You couldn't hide the chemistry and love.

All of the tools were left at the digs and a dozen articles of destroyed clothing tossed in the barrel by the door, as they drove out slowly. Molly and Marta went in the shop to help Darcy and Lou and Felix loaded up all the petrified wood they had found today into the van.

Once the rock tumblers got going in Vermont in a few weeks, all of their jewelry making friends were going to be very happy with all they would bring them.

Ten minutes later the three came out of the shop, with new shirts on and tossing one to each of the others as everyone did a quick change and hopped into the vehicles. Darcy went with Donna and Maggie since they had the comfortable captain's chairs to sit in and they all chatted on the hour ride to the storage unit to drop off most of the stuff and see all the four of them had dug in the previous days out here.

Early in the ride as they followed Lou and Molly with their van Darcy remarked to Maggie driving. " I can smell the reefer those two kids are smoking in front of us. I'm just glad it's not cigarettes. I can smell it in here too guys, and I don't care about that as long as you don't smoke when there are people and kids around my place. My grandson who will be here for the summer in a few weeks' smokes pot."

"Do you smoke pot at all Darcy?" Maggie asked, hoping for a few hits before a shower and dinner, as she dodged another deep rut after watching Lou do the same with his car a hundred feet ahead doing about twenty until they got to the more even gravel road.

"I have occasionally, and my back and hip wouldn't mind a hit or two before dinner. Any more than that and I might fall asleep after one drink."

They reached the better gravel road as Donna lit one and passed it to Darcy who took a good hit, like she was hitting an old school unfiltered cigarette.

"I quit those cancer sticks over thirty-five years ago after a bad case of pneumonia, but it was tough. This taste's much better and WOW it's strong." Darcy said coughing lightly, shaking her head, and passing on any more hits as Maggie kept it to three hits of what had been a purple weed joint, she forgot they had.

The rest of the ride went well just talking of where they lived in Vermont and living out on the road part of the year following the Grateful Dead.

They got to the storage place and pulled in near them and helped all unload and got a good look at everything the four of them had dug in four days. It was impressive.

Molly and Felix gave them each a handful of each color of the turquoise from three different buckets as she explained the sorting system her and Marta came up with and Felix told them of the plans for the larger pieces.

"Donna and Maggie. Next time you are out this way, if you want to join with us to dig on the reservation you can, and we will all do good. It will take us another trip to get all our share back, but we will easily sell turquoise of this quality. For our store, all of this is money in the bank, just waiting to get sold.

They locked it all up and got to the hotel, happy to get their room next to Lou and Molly, out at the far end soon. The clerk who had gotten to know those who had been here for a few days already, laughed at them all coming in filthy for the third of four nights so far.

He told them if they wanted, they could grab some extra towels off the cart just around the corner and asked if they had fun digging as Molly gave him a colorful piece from today and introduced him to Darcy, who owned the place and had come to have dinner with them.

"Cool. I have read the brochure in the rack for your place, and I will have to bring the wife and kids out there soon."

"Hope to see you there and tell the kids I guarantee the will find all kinds of cool things and get as dirty as these six have today." She said with a laugh as they all went to get cleaned up.

As they walked to the rooms after Maggie teased Lou and Molly. "Darcy smelled you bad kids smoking "Reefer" in front of us on the way here."

Darcy was laughing now and added. "I was so disappointed in you two I had to do a hit of some kind of "weird purple weed" these two crazy ladies had. Made me hungry and got the knot out of my back."

All four of the younger ones laughed as Maggie bet Felix and Marta had sparked one up for their ride after a long day too.

Once in the room Darcy said, "My bladder turned seventy-five today too, me first for a pee, then you two can fight for the shower."

"Fair enough Darcy. I got to dig a few things to wear out and my shampoo, after today. Donna got her first look in a mirror over the desk in the room and went hunting for all her bath stuff." Darcy was out in a minute and Maggie was already out of her new shirt and told them.

"I'm going to just start a pile in the corner of everything else for a trash bag to try and wash later when we get home, for either painting or the rag bag."

"I'll be quick guys. You can use my shampoo and conditioner if you want Darcy."

"Thank you. I have very limited water you can drink out there, and taking a real shower I can soak my head and the rest in good is a real treat."

As the water warmed, Maggie got a look at herself in the bathroom mirror and said loudly out the open door. My boobs are as dirty as Marta's and so is my belly too. Their all just a lot bigger than hers, but after she has a few little monsters with Felix we'll see."

Darcy laughed as she got out some nice slacks and a floral blouse to match. "That's funny Maggie. I had a weird dream about Molly and Marta both pregnant and having their water's break in my store and me and a blonde-haired woman, with green eyes, helping them into the station wagon to bring them to the nearest hospital."

Donna looked at Darcy saying: "Did you say blonde hair and green eyes? Then shouting to the bathroom. Sounds like Star, Maggie."

"Holy shit ladies! A friend of theirs named Star Mackenzie called for them, the first day they were here, and Molly was very happy to talk to her. She was really nice on the phone talking with her waiting for Molly to run in from digging, after Felix got her. She said and her family would be out to dig next year, after she had the twins, she's carrying."

"I've had plenty of weird dreams and some strange things over the years out at my home and lands. Two more hits from your very strong joint and I'll be having all kinds of dreams."

"We'll give you one more we have before we go so you can have a hit for your back after dinner when you like." Donna told her with a smile as Maggie came in the room with a towel half around her large frame and chest as she took her bath stuff into the shower and was tossing her destroyed clothes into the pile.

"I won't be long. I just want to get the dirt out from under my boobs and anywhere else it's hiding. We told them half an hour and our friends will need time to get clean after today too."

As she walked back and forth to the bathroom naked Darcy watched her and noticed the scar on the back and front of Maggie's upper left thigh. "When did you get shot Maggie?"

"I can understand a little Maggie. My husband had been in the national guard forever when World War Two started and he was in for all of it and did not come back the same. It killed him before 1960. He couldn't sleep."

"It took me a while and I really don't talk much about it. One of the reasons I like being out on tour is all of the peaceful people I meet instead of so many who just want to hurt and kill on all sides over there. In the end it is all really sad and just a waste of life."

Darcy came to her and gave her a hug for a moment and then let Maggie finish drying and pulling on a flowered skirt and put a soft multicolored blouse over her large breasts. She had noticed that Darcy did not even hesitate to hug her while she was naked and frankly felt just a little turned on and wondered if she was too.

"Ok Maggie be right there." She said with a laugh taking her own shirt and bra off to come over and help.

"I go out either early in the morning or I prefer after I close up and stand and lay before the setting sun. After what must have been ten minutes Darcy reluctantly got out of the shower and came out toweling off and getting dressed as she chatted with Donna and Maggie, watched the local news, and just relaxed after a strenuous but very good day.

While Darcy was in the shower they talked quietly and decided that if all agreed they would love to include Darcy in the circle of women they had joined with. Both strongly suspected they would not be the first women she had been with.

Things were different when she was young, and she grew up on farms and Molly said she told her that she and her cousin's all played around and that not just with the boys back then. Maggie noticed Lou had only one drink and then went to water for a while, saying he was too dehydrated and knew if he had to many would pay later, badly.

Maggie was happy for a few good Michelob's on draught and just relax and have a good sit-down meal with friends. All had a good time getting to know the others even better and just relaxing.

After some pie all kept talking and Molly noticed Lou and Felix were looking at a baseball game just coming on at the TV over the small bar. "You two men go watch the game for a bit and we will have some girls talk for a while. If you order more snacks let us know please. I feel like I've lost ten pounds in the last four days."

Maggie looked at Molly and agreed she had lost some weight since they had met her, and she had become toned keeping up with the hard work Lou did out here and some of the other stuff they did since joining.

For the next two hours the women had a good time talking and gossiping about the men and their lives in general while all nursed some drinks and soda's as Lou and Felix came over to say hi at times and two of the waitresses hung out as it got quiet later in the evening.

Although there was over fifty years in age differences at the table among the women all got on well and enjoyed the long talk and got to know the others better. All had a good buzz going but no one got drunk and Lou and Felix had both gone to water after one more drink at the bar after too long a day at the shovels.

Coming over to the table to steal some of their rolls Lou told Molly and Maggie why he was not drinking much. I'm just too drained and I do want to get sick or pass out on Molly like with the red wine in Sequoia, although that had been a long and fun day too." He told Molly with a kiss to her cheek and went back to watch the last inning.

Maggie gave Molly a curious look and she told her. "I had told him it was my turn to drive so he could have more than one glass of the good red wine at this restaurant we went to with Katy. We had tripped, hiked a few miles, gone swimming, planted baby trees, and just had a really fun day hanging out with Katy. Later we are all laying around after some more "Fun" and next thing Katy and I know Lou is asleep between us.

"In fairness he did say wine hit him hard but still. He fell asleep on us." She mock pouted to her friends.

"What did you do after he did that? Did you wake him up or let him sleep?" Darcy asked.

"Katy and I let him sleep and we went to hang out by the fireplace in the cabin she had for two nights. We ended up passing out on the couch later and Lou woke us up when he went to pee later that night. I was awesome to stay there, and we had a wonderful time, like now with all of you guys."

Everyone said a happy goodnight to the staff and Marta and Molly told Darcy, Maggie, and Donna they were going to do some stargazing over the small hill nearby and invited them to come along and have a few or many hits from their joints and Lou's pipe.

"My grandson is going to love meeting all you "Stoner Hippies" when he comes to help out in about a month. Darcy told them, taking a small and careful hit off of Lou's pipe. These people smoked strong pot. He's a good kid and between me and you guys I am thinking of leaving him in my place when I am not there anymore. His father and would just sell it and take the money but I want it to continue after me."

"How old is he?" Maggie asked.

"He just turned eighteen and is graduating high school soon and then will work with me this summer and make some money for school. He isn't sure where he will go to college so he may do some time with me and get some real money together."

Marta exhaled her hit saying. "Where I am finishing up soon isn't too expensive and I can give you some info for him next time were here and that way he can be only a few hours away. You said he lives in New Jersey earlier Darcy?"

Lou had just finished sharing a shotgun hit with Molly and added. "If he is interested in taking over he should take geology, accounting, business, and my hated major. Marketing!"

"Those are all good ideas kids, and I will talk to him over the summer and learn more of what he wants to do."

They enjoyed talking and stargazing for about a half an hour and two joints and three packed pipes of different flavors Lou and Molly still had with them. Molly asked Darcy passing the binoculars to Marta. Lou and I have talked of getting a small telescope and we wondered if we could camp out at your place sometime in the future and do some serious stargazing?

"I would love to have you guys out and it would be fun. Just have to look out for snakes and scorpions out at night but I can see the Milky Way and thousands of stars."

Molly let out a nervous laugh saying. "Lou will go first with a big stick and a light to look out for those. I have a problem with snakes."

You can take one of the spare rooms I got. My grandson will use one when he's here. You just have to remember there is a real lack of water out there.

When we leave Darcy Lou and I will leave you most of ours, all filled up either still new or refilled from here. They can spare twenty gallons or so I bet. We use more in the showers. She added with a smile at Lou and a kiss.

"We heard you two checking for any dirty spots while we got the dirt off of us although I was the cleanest of all of you. Darcy said. We even heard when he found that really dirty spot. Right There!"

As Molly turned a little red and the three older women laughed as Marta and Felix figured out what the others had been doing and heard. They had been busy in the shower too.

All of them were very high and Darcy had tried one hit of each type of pot they had and was feeling very happy and enjoying all the warmth and hugs from all as they just relaxed for almost an hour.

"We all have to get up early and get Darcy to work on time or the boss may be pissed. What time do you want to meet for breakfast in the morning?" Donna asked the group.

"How about 6:45. Felix suggested. We will be on the road for about 7:15 and get Darcy to work before 8:30, unless you want to be home earlier?"

"No that's great for me guys. Thank you all for a wonderful birthday."

They walked back slowly all very stoned and more than a little horny after a fun evening. They all said good night in front of Marta and Felix's room as Lou and Molly said they were going to hang out and watch some TV for a little while. None of them believed them, as Maggie noticed both men were already half hard in anticipation of the night ahead.
