I'll be honest, I'm not quite sure where to take this one. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Now you should tell this story from where Brock turned Ruth into his woman, only write in third person to cover it all. Then show the present with her explaining more to Dan.

If you're looking for suggestions on where to take this, I have an idea.

Maybe Ruth could have slipped the tablet into Dan's toolbag so that when he gets home, he opens it and finds the brainwashing program that Brock used on Ruth that he uses to get ahead in his sales job. From that point, Dan has two paths: freeing Ruth from Brock's control and helping her heal her family's relationship... or claim her all for himself...

Up to you, though.

You should think what limits the mind control should have on people most authours just go off tge rails with reall upper limited of what it can make people do are how many times it can be used on the same oerson
