Sophie unlocked Kate's elbows and watched, almost dreamlike, as Kate crawled back into her box bed and snuggled down on the white sheet that covered the small mattress. Sophie wriggled back into her underwear and shorts with Kate's attention caught by the bunch of keys still hanging from Sophie's belt hoop.
"Can you lock my hands together, Soph?" Kate asked, "And my feet?"
Sophie locked the cuffs around her limbs, ratcheting them tighter and tighter until Kate was satisfied.
Sophie reached into the box to kiss Kate one last time before closing and bolting the door. She then meandered across to the cell door and stared out at the real world as she waited for Belinda to return.
