The 100 year progression to the end of Eldar's life was the best route for your tale. It would have taken another book, (two?), if done in story form. It fit with the goal of this book, as well the form.

You've taken the time to ingrain the history of this world, and develop character types, and characters to carry forward. Now, let's see where you take it.
