I knelt down with tears in my eyes.
"Mary, please forgive me for the last 36 hours. I do not know what has come over me."
I was quiet for a while just being with her.
"I will never forget you. I will always love you but I am here to ask your permission to move on with my life."
I just paused and fell to the ground sitting, for what seemed like hours. I stood, wiping the tears from my eyes, told her that I will always love her. I would always love her and would visit as often as I could.
I walked back to my car and headed for home. There was one important stop I needed to make in an attempt to start making amends. A certain coffee shop for another gift card and maybe a new coffee cup.

Love the sub-plot with Jordan who he clearly loves more than he can admit, because he's a decent guy and she's married. I guess we'll find out soon what's going on with her and Mike that allows her to comfort our MC with no guilt...
