Lovely story, so believable and grounded, like all your works. This one particularly chimed with me, as I’ve enjoyed a number of daytime assignations in chain hotels with older married women. A bit like your hotel being near an interstate, mine have usually been close to the UK’s motorway network. Whenever I’ve since passed one of these hotels I feel a frisson of excitement, thinking about the dirty lady I’d have enjoyed in there for a few hours. Several UK hotel chains now offer day-rate bedrooms, supposedly for business meetings and remote working, but I suspect many are used by mucky folks like me for daytime sex under the radar. I’ve always found checking in at 10am with a mature “lady next door” wearing heels and a nice dress is a huge turn-on. I have no doubt the desk staff know exactly how we were going to use the room.

I loved your phrase “the turn on is the turning on” as that’s exactly what does it for me. Sadly a lot of long-married folks lose that perspective. Furthermore I always enjoy your detailed descriptions of messy sex. You and I clearly have a similar view towards dirty pleasure and I so enjoy reading erotica by someone likeminded, especially when they write as well as you do.
