However, love alone does not bring back trust or respect. What has happened can not be undone. In my view what she did is believe the worst about her husband and acted on it without any thought for her actions or her husband. The same would apply if a husband did the same thing.

Even if she now feels remorse and guilt and regrets over what she did. The deed has been done. It is far too late for regrets. Every one makes choices. She made hers and it was a really bad choice.

So in my view the wife should not be forgiven and the marraige should probably end where it is without further insult to either person. There is plenty of time for both of them to move on and find someone else.

There is little that is original here (then again, with cheating wife stories, everything's already been done), but it's well-written.

For some reason it is always the WIFE who jumps to conclusions, based on gossip, hearsay, or accidentally seeing her husband in the company of another woman.

That being said I still try to see the POV of the characters. And okay Ken's low sex drive and the lunch dates look pretty bad. But then instead of Kim confronting him she jumps the lawn boy. So pretty much the basic tale of the dumb immature wife.

Don't see any hope for these two. He may forget to take out the trash and she'll jump the mailman.

Yanno, the anon above me is right. Was there EVER a story where the husband cheats as revenge, upon finding out his wife is cheating on him? The few times I read that a woman hires a PI, is when the woman is the wife of "the other guy". And usually, upon being contacted by the cuckolded husband, conspires with him to take both cheaters down, and gives him the evidence of the PI she hired. Very formulaic.

A similar event happened to a friend of mine, but he was the one that cheated. His wife was a little flirty and he once saw more than there was and reacted with a common friend of theirs. The other woman told on him and shit, divorce court and the rest happened. Both were and are nice people, just weak in the trust area.

Probably, the action in this story, technically varies by venue as to whether this is a crime of rape or is not! As to whether it is 'rape' as defined by LIT, I think it is NOT! Granted, the Bull does NOT leave when asked. BUT, Sweetie had been caught admiring Bull's nudity and self-indulgence (and she knew she had been caught!) This story wasn't really erotic, but it was decently written. In my opinion the real villans of the story were the snotty, gossipy neighbor and the horn dog frat boy who was willing to destroy a marriage for a piece of ass from a distraught woman.

As a man who has been in relationships with women I can verify that they as a general rule DO react emotionally much quicker than males do. Men are methodical and logical, women tend to operate on feelings and from the heart. This is obviously a generalization, but by and large it is true. I could completely understand that she got worked up and began to have suspicions, but she should have definitely given her man the benefit of the doubt unless he had a dubious track record. She should definitely NOT have confronted him in the restaurant unless she KNEW he was cheating. That kind of situation would only have embarrassed everyone needlessly and created a hostile atmosphere that could have erupted into the police being called and everyone's reputations ruined. Stephanie would have been rumored to been a home-wrecker, Jeff a cheating dog and the wife would have been cast as a crazy, out for blood bitch.

She SHOULD have waited until Jeff got home, confronted him with her fears and the circumstancial evidence and listened to him. Since the situation of the weeks before was partially his fault he should have been willing to be willing to look at her side of the story. And if she wouldn't have jumped the gun (and the yard boy) her marriage would have been back on solid ground.

A;tough the story was very well written, and enjoyable to read you did one thing that always really pisses me off, like all the other authors do which is unforgivable. You left the story without any type of an ending. Do all you authors have a fixation with Alfred Hitchcock endings or did you just run out of ideas of how to finish the damn story properly ? From reading the WHOLE STORY it was actually a pretty good what there was of it. Could you not at least submit another chapter and let the readers know what the results were, at least this would make your story a better story. but again still it was a decent story. oh btw I really hope the rest of your stories aren't or don't have the same endings. Decent story. The only way I see them fixing this is by serious marriage counseling and a post-nuptial agreement. And it may not be possible to fix; for some people where trust is that important - this serious a breech could spell the end. At the very least their plans for having kids are put on hold for months, if not a few years.
