I worry about how well those triggers would be removed after the escape room was over.

Heck, just the whole "how much they were programmed by those machines" -- the whole wait for three people to be lost and then activate the "hypnotize your remaining friend" while not talking about it -- that's a complicated post hypno trigger to seemingly take so strongly.
