Dear oh dear. Now I’ve had a bit of a break from it, this has so many rough edges I’m embarrassed that I published it. However I was a bit fed up with it and wanted it off my desk. I plan to rewrite it in the next couple of months and invite anyone interested in helping in any way (editing etc) it to get in touch

Thank you for sharing this, I have very much enjoyed it, especially the mix of fuzzy myth and hard science. Very well done!

I have a couple of editorial quibbles:

You used "step up to the plate" a couple of times; this is a (relatively) modern metaphor, derived from American baseball, and I found it jarred slightly in the 'Arthurian' context. "Dollars" instead of pounds crept in somewhere as well.

There almost certainly was an 'historical' Arthur, probably in the immediately post-Roman period. His story, in becoming a myth, attracted various half-remembered earlier legends (historical anecdotes), and had layers of later trimmings. Too much to add here.

For a considered, though fictionalised, picture of a possible historical Arthur as 'dux bellorum', see the trilogy by Mary Stewart beginning with 'The Crystal Cave'.

5* every chapter, thanks again,

Dixon (UK)

Thank you for your support. Reviews such as this are hugely encouraging, especially at the times when I feel like I’m shouting at the void!
