This is a very well written story that really put a hook in me from the outset. It is a story that I could absolutely, relate to. For years I kept my dance career a secret as it never went the way I had planned. People would have considered it too dirty for me to ever mention any of it so I just eventually buried it. People simply cannot relate to any of it nor would they probably want to. I finally opened up about my experiences with another dancer who shared a similar career path. Like myself, she has many dreams and thoughts about her younger days and she wrote of her experiences in her human sexuality class in college. Many people today especially younger folks have no idea how sleazy many dance productions were in the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s. I apologize for using that word "sleazy" but I suppose many people would label it as such. Ballet dancers, especially those not hired by major companies were in high demand at the casinos, resorts, cruise ships, and striptease shows at lavish nightclubs. You could also find work performing in dance shows specializing in live sex on stage.
