"That is not what concerns you, Robert?" asked Brent. Robert sat with no expression on his face.

"You see visions of orgies and your wife taking on hundred men at a time. It is just like men with 12-inch cocks; that happens pretty much only in porn."

"Ok, Doc, tell me how it works. But I don't give a shit about everyone else. I'm pissed at Rebecca because she didn't tell me she was into those types of things."

"I agree with you about that, Robert. When she talked to me, she explained she was in love with you and just couldn't face losing you. And she swears she's never touched another man since she has been with you.

"I find that hard to believe, Brent, that she gave it up for me."

"Did you give up other women for her?"

"Of course I did," replied Robert.

"Why?"

"Because I love her."

Then why don't you believe her?

"I don't know."

"What do you think is so bad about swinging?" Asked Brent

Robert replied, "You're cheating because you're having sex outside your marriage. The wedding vows say, forsaken all others."

"Robert, to swingers, they have not forsaken their spouses. And also have better communication skills. To them, honesty and trust are essential in a marriage or any relationship. When things get bad, their spouses always have their backs and always choose them first.

"Brent, I don't care about others," snarled Robert.

"Yeah, that's true. But you're letting your bias play into this, aren't you? You've mistaken infidelity for swinging. Infidelity to you means cheating and sex with others. And I have counseled many swingers that cheated outside their marriages, typically with married non-swingers.

"And what about people who refuse to have sex with their spouses? They might not be cheating, but they forsaken their partners. Isn't that breaking your vows?"

Robert appeared to be shutting down.

"Robert lets back up her a little; I'm not taking sides. Here, let's talk about your marriage up until now. Let's say I asked you this two days ago before you entered that party."

"Doc, I would say I was the luckiest man in the world. My business is going great. Well, without Rebecca, I would have lost it. She took over while I was out, and it never missed a beat. I felt like I wasn't needed."

"She had your back, didn't she?" Asked Brent

Robert stared at him without comment.

"Go on," said Brent.

"I had three beautiful kids and a beautiful wife, and I live the dream. I had it all."

"Had. Why is that?"

"I don't know, Brent."

"You're afraid she'll cheat on you because of her past with swinging. I asked her if she had, and she vehemently denied it. How about you, Robert? Have you ever cheated, Robert?

"Nooo. I haven't even thought about it. And nobody's even shown interest in me."

Brent chuckled, "That's not what Becky told me. She said she knew of at least three and could prove it. But she also said you didn't even notice them making a pass at you."

Robert sat back and ran his hand through his hair, "Damn, I thought I was pretty observant. I guess I'm not."

"I've talked to everyone that knows Becky, including your family. Your mother would bet her life on Becky never cheating on you.

"You have to understand, Robert, women wake up in the morning and have to make a conscious decision not to cheat. Even plain women can get more partners than the best-looking men. For a man, you have to select your target and seduce them. Women can get laid pretty much anytime they want if they are willing."

"Brent, it bothers me that Rebecca could have been with so many men. I can't get it out of my mind."

"I talked to your father, and he said you pretty much got laid anytime you wanted until you met your first girlfriend and got cheated on."

"Yeah, true."

"What's changed?"

"I don't know."

"I think it was the first time you related love and sex together, and before that time, it was just lust. And it changed you. Plus, she cheated on you, and you related cheating sex with being a slut after that.

"There's another aspect when it comes to viewing women and men. Robert, do you respect people more that have to work for something instead of it being given to them? Who do you respect more, a self-made millionaire or a trust fund baby who got theirs by accident of birth?"

"Of course. A self-made man as long as they did it honestly," replied Robert.

"That's the crutch of the situation for men. Men have to work hard to get sex. Very few are born with everything they need to get a wife. Men need to grow and mature into men.

"They have to work their ass off the get the type of woman they want. But not women. They were born with fertility, youth, and, in some cases, absolute beauty. They won the genetic lottery by just being.

"Now I want you to remember when you played ball with others. Who did you hate the most? I wouldn't say hate, but I had no respect for them."

Robert smiled and replied, "That's easy, players with all the talent in the world. Then wasted it and abused it."

"Correct. We've had the birth control pill available for a little over thirty years, and for the first time, women now have control of their ability to conceive. Before, it was a considerable risk to have sex outside marriage, and the consequences for both men were enormous. So, women had to be more careful of whom they took to bed.

"But with the pill, we opened up the candy shop for women, and both sexes are dealing with the consequence. We now have the pill, condoms, abstinence, diagrams, and abortion to control births. In the future, they'll have drugs for after you do it and medications for men.

"As a psychiatrist that studies human sexuality, it will be a detriment in the future for the family. Women will put off having children until later in life. A 30-year-old woman is basically having a geriatric birth at that age in a biological sense. We all need to accept the act of sex is not free.

"Now, back to my question, "Because it is easy for women to get laid, and people do not respect, easy."

"Brent, I was almost sure Rebecca was still swinging after hearing the conversations that night at the house. I don't know now; I'm still trying to process everything."

Brent looked at his watch. "Well, we're over my hour, but John can afford it. So, let's dive a little more into the swinging Lifestyle. Not because you're going to do it, but to have a relationship with your in-laws, you need to understand and know what they do.

"Like I said earlier, my wife and I participate in The Lifestyle. So, I am speaking from experience. I usually get involved with people who think they are ready to expand their horizons long before committing to it.

"I probably tell more couples not to do it than I agree they should. If couples still go ahead anyway, it almost guarantees they'll end up divorced. The divorce rate among longtime swingers is far lower than that of monogamous couples.

They rated their sex lives as more satisfying, and they have far better couple communication skills than mono-married couples.

"I can vouch for that," replied Robert.

Brent smiled at that reply and spoke. "Now that you know your in-laws live The Lifestyle, would you consider Morgan a slut?"

"I haven't thought about it, but I'd say no."

"Ok, what if they were monogamous, and she cheated on John with his best friend and was hooking up at bars? I bet you would then, wouldn't you?"

Robert nodded yes.

"What about a girl that goes to gang bangs for fun and abuses what God gave her."

"Absolutely," replied Robert.

"What if 50 men raped her?

"No way in the world would ever think any less of her," Robert hissed.

"How about a prostitute or, let's say, a high-class escort?"

"I haven't thought about it; no, I never call a hooker a slut."

"So, it's point of reference then, right."

"Yes."

"So, it's not the sex act then. It's the misuse of it to the detriment of another person.

"And you notice no one ever says anything bad about the men in The Lifestyle. Most monogamist men say they're lucky."

"That's true," replied Robert smiling.

"To be a swinger, you have to have trust in your partner, and that partner has to trust you. You're giving something precious that you hold dear into the arms of another person.

"All couples have rules they abide by. And I have seen as many different lists of rules as there are couples. Some examples are. They must stay in the same room or not in the same room. Not taking one for the team."

Robert looked confused.

"I'll explain," said Brent. "Let's say you show up one night with your wife, and someone else's wife couldn't make it. That means one more man than a woman. You both don't swap that night, or you have sex together. Or what if you find a couple with a beautiful wife, and the guy is a pig? You don't want your wife to go to bed with him so that you can have the wife.

"No dating outside marriage; that's not swinging. Some don't want to watch each other. What if she says he is better in bed in the moment of passion? Or you say the woman is more beautiful. You can burst your spouse's ego and not really mean it, but once said, you can't take it back.

"Why do people do it? You might ask Robert. Some people want anal, and their spouses don't. Some wives won't swallow. Some men are too big and can't just fuck their wives hard as the wife wants without hurting her, and the wife wants a smaller one.

"Some wives have small tits, and their husbands want bigger. There are as many reasons as you can imagine. "But most of the time, it's for excitement and to make new friends.

"Now, back to Morgan. From what I understand, she has been an excellent mother-in-law and loves you, Robert. Has she supported you, Robert, and shown you any signs that her daughter or family were too good for you? Has any of them?

"No."

"Then you're luckier than me. My mother-in-law is a bitch. Nobody would have been good enough for her princess."

Robert laughed.

"John spoke to me this morning and said, if necessary, they will all stay out of your lives if that is what it takes to save your marriage. They said it would kill them not to see you, especially your kids if you decide it's for the best.

"Robert, I know I'm over the place here, but this a very unusual circumstance. And I have limited time to prepare. Usually, I would see each other at least six times, and we could delve into each topic separately.

"I thought I'd tell you; you turned Becky to the Dark side." Robert gave him another one of his WFT looks.

"You made her 100% monogamous. She told me she wasn't sharing shit with her family or anybody else. She said she'd crush your nuts like pecans if she ever caught you cheating on her." Robert flinched.

"Think about this, Robert. She was looking for a husband already in The Lifestyle when she decided to go to Casa Tampico that night. And she just happened to meet you. She said you were probably the most monogamous man she'd ever met. And she gave it up for you.

"Things just keep popping into my head," said Robert. "I can't get them out."

"You're still worried she took on an entire Atlanta football team? Let's say you're at a party with ten other couples; Robert, on a typical night, how many times can you orgasm?

Once.

And a night where you haven't seen each other or done it in a while. How many times?

"Maybe twice," replied Robert.

When was the last time you came three times?

"Years ago," Robert replied. "Where's this going?"

"The couples are there to swap," explained Brent. "They're not there to watch. Let's say each husband has sex twice he's done. So, no way a woman is going to take on ten men. The men aren't capable of it.

"Oh, by the way, James said he doesn't want you to join. He said you'd hog all the women. Even mine would throw her hat into the ring," snickering to himself.

"Robert, take your time. Write down what you want to ask your wife. And ask her. If you need to talk, call me anytime.

"To leave on a high note, please tell me why you love Becky."

Robert contemplated for a second. "She's my sunshine in a thunderstorm. She's my calm in a hurricane. To me, business is war. I try to protect her from that as much as possible from the pressures of the day-in and day-out crap. I don't want her to be any part of it.

"After a tough day, I walk into my home to have my kids run to meet me and jump in my arms, and behind them, Rebecca always meets me with a hug and a smile. She doesn't throw petty problems at me as I walk in the door. She let my home be my sanctuary.

"She listens to my problem and doesn't give her input or thoughts unless I ask. She is very protective of me and always has my back. I guess you can say she's my best friend."

Brent smiled, "Keep that in mind when thinking about what you want to do. I suggest you and Becky see me or Trish, my wife. She is also a marriage counselor. Anytime you need to talk, call us. Ok?"

Robert stood looking over the Atlanta skyline staring north toward Midtown. The old IBM tower stood tall against its contemporaries. He sat on the balcony and stared over the passing highway traffic as the sun set in the west.

Grabbing his pen and paper, he sat down and started writing and asking himself questions.

Did Rebecca cheat??????????? RICO????? Coming home late exhausted. Inhouse workouts, taking showers when coming home late, swinging no.

Did they want my company???????? She could have taken it when I was out. "No!!"

Why did she insist on getting DNA????????????? No idea. But the kids are mine.

Can I live with Rebecca's past????????????? That's the question!!!!!!!!!!!! Only time will tell.

Divorce, if cheating. He underlined cheating over and over??????????? Probably. Maybe. Hell, I just don't know.

When a knock came from the door, Robert snapped out of his thoughts.

Robert opened the door to see a room service standing with a push cart and covered dishes. Excuse Mr. Bradshaw. It is Valentine's Day. We have champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries courtesy of the house."

"No, don't think so," Robert replied. As he started to shut the door, he stopped and swung it back wide. "Come back; I'll take them. Come on and bring them in, and thanks." He pulled out a ten and tipped the man.

"Thank you, sir, and have a nice evening," the waiter said as he shut the door behind him.

Robert walked over to the phone and hit a 9. When he heard the outside dial tone, he dialed home.

"Hello," he recognized Rebecca's voice instantly.

"Rebecca," replied Robert in a soft voice."

Rebecca quietly replied, "Yes, dear."

"Do you think you could get a babysitter this late for tonight? I have a chilled bottle of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries and no one to share them. I also have a hot tube that looks out over the city. I was wondering if you would like to come down and try it out? I am ready to talk."

"Yes, yes. I'll call your family and see if they can come. I'm sure they'll do it."

"Well, if they can't, maybe yours can," he replied.

"Are you sure? You don't mind? I didn't think..."

Cutting her off, Robert said, "Your parents are fine. And don't drive fast. Be careful."

"I will, I will," her voice started to crack." I'll be there as soon as I can. I love you."

"I love you too. Plan on staying the night."

Robert heard Rebecca crying as she hung up the phone.

Robert opened the door to see his wife dressed in her sweats.

"I hope you don't mind. I was in such a hurry I didn't bother to change. I miss you, Robert."

Robert reached over and gave a long hug, and said, "Let's go inside. I have the tub filled and running. I'll get the champagne, and you go ahead and get undressed. Then I'll meet you there so we can talk. Oh, there's a robe in the bathroom. It's hanging on the back of the door.

Robert sat in the tub staring out the window when he caught a glimpse of Rebecca walking by. She took the hint when she saw the glass sitting across from her husband. So she headed to the other side of the tub.

She slowly slipped her robe over her shoulders and dropped it to her feet. Robert couldn't believe his wife's new frame as she slipped into the bubbling waters.

"Wow, Rebecca, you look great."

She smiled, "Do you like the new me."

I liked the old you just fine. But the new you will work too if you're happy with it. Just don't become a Barbie."

"I won't ever look like one of those. I'm just not built that way. Unfortunately for you, the girls took the biggest hit. Oh, by the way, my A1C problem is gone, and no issues with diabetes anymore.

"I'm going to keep working out with Rico; he works wonders on my body." Her stomach tightened when she saw the look on Roberts's face go dark with her last statement.

He raised his glass, glared into her eyes, and said, "Let's make a toast.

She smiled, "What should we toast to?"

"To the truth," raising his glass toward her.

"To the truth, it is." She replied. They both touched their goblets together and took a sip.

Robert started the conversation, "Are you having an affair with Rico? His eyes locked on hers, waiting for her answer.

"No, Robert, never. I can prove it. But if you want to know, you should ask him. He is the one man in Georgia you don't have to worry about." He saw no deception in Rebecca's eyes. But found her last comment strange.

"You have to forgive me, but my confidence in you was severely shaken by the recent events I've witnessed. I question everything you've ever said to me now. What is the truth and what is not? I am now questioning our relationship."

"Please, Robert, don't do that. Don't ever think that. I can't remember a time now when I didn't love you. You and the kids are my life. I never lied to you about my former life; you never asked. And the fact that my parents were swingers was never brought up."

Robert raised his voice, "Don't you think that kind of information was important for me to know? At least you should have told me about your parents. I would've called before I dropped by."

Rebecca asked, "Why did you stop by the house that night?"

Robert held his snide remark to himself, "Constance saw Anika and Chad making out one night at your sister's house. I wanted to keep you out of it. I had decided to tell John and let him talk to Beth and James so they could handle it."

Rebecca looked at her husband. "I know what you think of my family, but that's unacceptable behavior. They are blood relatives, for Christ's sake. I'll call James and Beth tomorrow and let them know what's happening."

Robert took another sip, "Why did you insist on the DNA test? You were adamant about doing it."

Rebecca took her sip and told her story, "It was for my father."

"Your father, why?" A shocked Robert replied.

"One day, my brothers and sisters came to me. One of the family's secrets was I might have been someone else's daughter.

"What! Morgan cheated on him?" Robert asked in shock.

"No, she didn't. After Beth was born, they had put off going back to The Lifestyle right away.

"They had just gotten back into the Lifestyle about nine years when her pills failed her, and she became pregnant.

"Dad promised Mom he loved her, and it was the price they paid for living The Lifestyle. It was never brought up again. Mom and Dad knew who the father was if I wasn't his.

"Beth wanted the DNA test to run on all siblings and kids. We had them run on everyone except Mom and Dad.

"As you know, it turned out Dad is my father. When we showed my parents the results, their expressions confused us at the time. They said deep down inside, they always knew I was his.

"Mother later told me she cried for an hour after we left. And Dad left the house and returned about the same time Mom had finished. She could look into his eyes and tell he had also been crying.
