I'm not sure about 'scary', Dolphin, but it's certainly fascinating. And you have selected a somewhat biased sample of human psyches for your experiment. I do suspect that what you have called the Morality Brigade has become more rabid in recent years. When you go back through the archives to early 2000s LW stories, the comments seemed to me to be much more accepting of a wife's extra-marital activities. In recent years, the Brigade has come out in force.

So whether it was the racial element and the attraction of the warning at the beginning of the story, or whether it was a function of the increase in rabidity over time, it was an interesting experiment.

An interesting extension of your study would be to write it again, but from the viewpoint of a wife with an adulterous husband rather than a husband with an adulterous wife. The racial element could remain and the swimming pool scene stay much the same. Sadly, there isn't a Loving Husbands category so it would have to go somewhere else where it would miss the LW moralisers. This is a much better story than the first chapter of this series. This part even seemed remotely plausible.
