I don't at all agree that this story is too long, and even if I did think that, what is really great here is the way you kept the ecitement going through each part of it until the end. There was no lull in the action, there were no dull, boring parts you wanted to skip through in order to get back to the exciting part again. The whole story just clicked and worked as one piece and read very quickly, keeping me riveted all throughout. Again, great write!

I like the idea, but I feel like too much had been pressed into one story. Each of the chapters could've been its own short story, so that the whole transformation could be experienced be the character as well as by the readers. The way it is the story feels too much like a draft or a more elaborate set of notes. I'm affraid I might've phrased my comment incorrectly, because I'd rather convince you to develop the story further, than discourage you from writing.
