...if I was going to get a laugh today, the whole theme of this part seeming so serious. I've attended many such conferences (although not in education)---they can be bloody tedious. And then you hit me with your whammy---Abbey lost it. A brilliant if unacademic mouthful of dialogue and I'm glad that I wasn't drinking coffee this time. So what else has our diminutive heroine got up her sleeve (if sleeve is the right word)?
Excellent job by Pixie for standing up for her self against Abby in public.
Now, I hope Miss Penny realizes, that she must protect Pixie from Abby's potential revenge.

Penny's account was great, showing that Pixie could both be a good little subbie and a devious little minx. I had a good laugh at how Pixie turned the tables on Abby. :)
A child is not necessarily childish. A child can also have wisdom and courage. The lesson is this: Being put in a position of power and authority does not give you the right to bully and abuse others. Always respect those in your care.
Perhaps Pixie accepts her role as a young schoolgirl not just out of submissiveness but also to show empathy with girls at the verge of adolescence, who are in a vulnerable stage at their lives, similar to what Pixie had lived through.
Another idea is that by allowing herself to be child-like, her love for Dame Suzie can become more pure and true.
Thank you for this thought-provoking chapter.
Thank you, Maonaigh. I try to provide some humour, and in the next one, it comes in another unexpected way. Like you, I have attended too many such conferences, and could not help wanting to poke fun at them xx
Thank you, OneAuthor. I am glad you enjoyed Pixie’s subtle revenge. I hope the different point of view gambit is working xx
Thank you Jeff. I think, as the next chapter shows, Penny is beginning to realise that Pixie has unexpected reserves when it comes to protecting herself.
You SO get it Amadeus. You are so perceptive and yes to all three of your comments. Pixie is showing, I hope, just what you perceive - thank you xxx
I love how Pixie is seen as so vulnerable and compliant, regressing to a childish state, yet we also see that she has strength and cunning. All things considered, the use of the banana must have been planned, or a brilliant bit of improvisation, and it goes to show how she is taking the roleplaying and conference seriously, trying to both learn from it and teach others, and all while having fun.
Thank you, Vanquished. Yes, you are beginning to see Pixie in the round. I hope you will enjoy the next chapter, which will strengthen your analysis here. xx
Loved it. I hope I will never deserve to be on the honeyed tongue of somebody the way Abby was.
Again, this was spectacular. To see the twist and transformation of little Pixie and how she handled Abby, made me thrilled inside. I am loving this series.5 🌟
