What a fascinating story! It's shorter than his others, but it explores another (and unanswered) question of human nature, and one wonders how much of it personal experience. It is also a tantalizing vignette of a travel destination where I now want to go. Did you notice the passing mention of the narrator's great-great-grandfather, old Andrew the general? It's a worthy successor to the author's masterpiece, "A Legend of the Great War".

Nice Tale! Would have been a Wonderful Tale if A Connection had been Made With The Black Africans on the Beach with the Deaths....A Ghostly Tale! Enjoyed it though! Just A Suggestion! Or did I miss the point entirely??Knicki x
I loved this story, and I think the author's claim that his work isn't about himself wears a little thinner than with the others.
I'm Freya, a single lady of 42 with my own home in the West Midlands, who isn't afraid of ships that go bump in the night. If aabelard cares to show me the White Ravine, or meet anywhere else, I don't believe he need worry about getting his rocks off!
