Why go through the trouble of being so descriptive of everything else and then cut off the actual sex like you got caught with your hand in a cookie jar?

The ending was so abrupt...like a car wreck. If you didn't want to write the rest of the scene, you should have stopped the story at the point the apprentice moved away from the Master. That would have been a better stopping point.
