I can't tell you how much I love your work, I check all the time for a update, but Leon is getting on my last nerve, I hate the way he's always warning one of the mates. Thorne especially (big soft spot for the dude) he never ask their version of events or points of view first, just senses their not lying once they speak.

Yes, your looking out for your sisters but their grown as are their mates and bear in mind Hans didn't come at him like that regarding Nadine. The threats are annoying as well, he's a new vampire and not invincible or experienced as those he's issueing threats to even if he was as my mama always says "You bad, but there's always someone badder than you"

This story is so intriguing. On top of a little family history and empathic folks, we have warring factions, rouge entities and BARB! HA! I cannot wait for the next chapter. So Olivia feels something for William...., hmmmmm. Caleb needs to die, but we shall see. The mystery with the Blackwells and Sinclaire families maybe the factor that saves them from destruction. Celeste is the SHYT!!!! I am so glad that she speaks to the baby and for the baby. You are my sunshine must have meaning in this family. That is all I am gonna say on that front. Thorne picked up that the eyes in Noel's picture belongs to a Yancy and he reasoned that the girls were too young. Now we need to find out more about the Yancy family or Celeste when she grows up may become a sister-in-law/niece. I really think the battle that is brewing will make everything clear. Or perhaps there is a long lost sister, aunt or cousin. Hmmmmm. I cannot wait for another chapter. GREAT STUFF HERE!!!!

Everyone's (rightly) telling her that she should woman up be a better mother to her child. Okay, cool. Yet, on the other hand, Thorne is telling her that the only way she gets to be a mother and keep her child is if she makes herself his sex slave, and can fully expect to never be anything more than that to him? Honestly, telling someone that they have to "be your mate" without actually treating them like a mate... is stupid. It's effectively a sex slave and a breeder, with a public facade of a kiss on the cheek to make it look like he's not a complete fool..

Way to send a conflicting message. Leon needs to open this idiot's throat - he's completely undermining every good effort Barb's family, Celeste, and everyone else including the baby's undergoing to make Barb a better person.

It's like he's not even evil as Louise claimed he was - just a stupid vicious asshole, who has no respect for women, despite claiming that he's owning up to what he did. He's not owning up - he's repeating himself and using her like a whore, and even worse, he's taking her opportunity to be a better person because he's making it clear that he will do nothing more than treat her like a whore no matter how good a mother she is.

Barb isn't being forced into anything. even before she was presented with her options, she admitted that she never wanted children and the mutual loving respect of a relationship. Thorne is what he is and doesn't pretend to be otherwise. He isn't undermining anything- Barb is! she now even dislikes her niece because she told the truth about her. IMHO Thorne loves his kid as evidenced by the baby's reaction to him. The bottom line is this... what is she going to do? She does have the option of getting what she wants minus Thorne. She doesn't have to choose the option of being his mate. in fact, there's a fourth option- she could simply have the baby and walk away with nothing than what she came with. Will she do that? I highly doubt it. She will choose one of the three and if i had to choose which one, i would say the first option- money, leave the baby and go on her merry way. that way she still can change her mind about how involved she wants to be.

Barb does not WANT to be a mother. She just wants the perks of marrying money. I am no longer angry with Barb. As I have posted before, she makes me tired. Barb takes for granted that her family loves her and it fuels her disdain. Barb is someone to tolerate or dismiss because that is what she does to others. There is no need to waste energy on anything else. Thorne is no prince but since he holds the money she wants so bad..., like he said...., she would suck someone dick to get at his money so what does that make her? When someone calls you on your bullshit how can you be mad? LOL Barb does not have to pick any of the choices she can love her baby and be done with it. But that is not an option that she can even conceptualize unless she can, in her mind control it. She was all good in the hood when she thought the baby would give her endless money. But karma is a bitch. Barb wants love so that she can decide if she is gonna spit in it's face or welcome it with conditions. Thorne is up front with his fucked-up-ness. Barb can't even articulate her want of everything for nothing. She even considered harming her baby to get out of dealing with something other than her wants. Barb even goes against her gut instincts in her want for someone else's money and what she thinks she deserves. Why would a child if given a choice want to be born of a person that only shows them hate or contempt. Barb is mildly concerned that her family might be sick of her only because she has no one to harp at. Now she feels alone but somehow it is not her fault. Barb has choices, she limits herself, so why punish this baby that she helped to create. There are always options, Barb's issue is wants what she wants how she wants it not considering anyone but her. Messing with Thorne was not a smart move with that mindset. If she thinks that his choices are her only ones that she should re-read them. The reason that she is having difficulty is because she does not want to care for a baby, she does not want to consider anyone but herself but she does not want to be limited to her access to someone else's money. Some folks don't want to have children and that is cool, but Barb would have had this baby if the baby insured money coming her way. She was all set to hire nannies and the like, but Thorne took the air out of her sails. Barb could walk away. Barb could learn to love. Barb could pick one of the 3 choices. It is all about perspective. If Barb thinks it is her choice to live large at someone else's expense receiving all the unconditional love and respect because you should embrace her hateful ass then she would be happy as a pig in slop. If you call her on her crap and tell her your conditions you are a meanie. Well Barb is a character that we all seem to have deep feelings about. In my case I know folks like this. Unfortunately these folks brought children into the world that no one cares for. So I think my opinion of her is very biased. That song I can't make you love me if you don't rings true even for a baby. Some folks don't look at a new born and feel loving. Some folks look at a new born and only see a leech, a money-ticket, a means to an end..., not necessarily a pretty truth. Barb is the master of her fate. She is a fortunate person even though I believe she does not see it. I am still trying to figure out the abuse. I am not in love with Thorne, but his manner is not hidden. So when you walk in the direction of the raging bull, why get upset when he might gore you. It is a strong possibility that you might get stuck or trampled, This story sure has us chatting. Like I said before, this is good stuff!!!

I cannot tell you how much I love your work. You should write a book. I have read your stories at least 10 times each over and over again. I love this update and glad that Barb's feelings about her baby are made clear. Thorne may be a bastard but he is honest and I love him. I only have one request please bring no harm to my men. Nathan, Ethan, Patrick, Leon or Thorne. The have to make it back safely. Again thank you for writing and keeping us all entertained with your stories you are a fantastic writer!

When each successive chapter you make me hate Barb more. Thorne was an ass to her but I loved it as I really can't stand Barb anyway. So loving this story!!!

I wanted to cry when the son revealed that he didn't want to be born. Regardless of what you may think about Thorne, he loves that child.

Who is the mystery Yancy? (the eyes: will the real owner stand up, stand up)

Who is the old vampire? I think William just called him "Grandfather" because he was old. Who could it be? Things that make you go hmmm. (placing index finger to my head).

The real mystery is going to be solved about what happened between the two families. First, they have to kick some Rufus behind.

Is it dumb of me to hope that Barb will become the woman you have shown us glimpses that she can become ? I really want for her to take responsibility of her life, love her child & family! I am conflicted as to how I feel about Thorn, yes he obviously loves his child but am I foolish to hope you have placed them together because as broken as they are the only ones who could truly love the other? Ill always want a happy ending and to see the baby, Barb and Thorn together as a family would do that for me!

She never wanted a child. Just because she finds herself pregnant, wouldn't negate those feelings. Add to thet, she doesn't even have the rught to terminate. Whether the author wants to cover this by making her desire money, or not, does not chamge that her right to choose has been taken from her.

I'm in my fifties, and I never wanted kids. So I understand how she feels. Don't get me wrong, I love other people's children. They are adorable, but at the end oi the day they go home.

She is greedy, money-hungry, and portrayed as spoiled, but she has a right to feel how she does about not wanting kids. Look at it like this, deep down she knows she's not the motherly type. She understands her limitations. Instead of making her a villanous troll, maybe, just maybe people should see this issue from her side.

Kalamazoo, I just discovered your stories and I must say they are wonderful. It takes true taklent to take such unlikable characters and make the sudience sheer for them. This story is a terrific tale. I look forward to the next chapter.

I remember barb promising her first husband a baby so that he would marry her... he left her when she reneged. In other words... she lied to get what she wanted. Her only goal is money... and she is using the baby to get it. That goes beyond just not wanting a baby. She had options but decided to go after Thorne and his money... she still has options.

Kala, you have done what few ever learn to do; evoke intense emotion for character who are truly unworthy of attention. This is why soap operas soared in the ratings everyone love to hate and forgive a bad person. Barb can stay the cold, conniving , loathsome, unrepented scum bag week after week. As long as you continue to show that her persona is cracking and glimmers of a decent person exist underneath everyone will take the ride. Erica Cain and JR Ewing to prime examples looking forward to witnessing the evolution of Barb Yancy.

I have been following your stories for awhile now, and I love them. The way you develop characters is very interesting. At first I liked the storyline with Barb, but now it's starting to get boring hearing she repeat the same hateful message to her family over and over again. I think it's time to see her character evolve into something new. Just seems with your other characters they would have evolved by now, So why are you holding on to Barb being a monster for so long across multiply stories?

the birth of a child is a beautiful thing. I myself can't have kids due to health issues, but if i could have a baby i would love and care for my baby greatly. But females like Barb can have kids and not want them. Those kids are mean to a end for females. Unloved kids goes a stray in up on the streets because they have no one to loved them especially their mothers. So they go looking for love end with ppl that use and abuse them for their own selfish gain. It is time for Barb to get hell out the story i am tired of her bitchiness being mean to the ppl that love her. She really has no clue. I have love Thorne from the start he is what he is a man that can see a golddigger a mile and that is what he saw in Barb. Women like Barb will continue to want more money because they are never going to be happy with what they have they got have more and more. I would be happy to see the last of Barb out of the story.

I just reread this chapter, and I hate Barb even more. I just want her to live long enough to deliver a healthy baby and then die an horrible death. She's evil and nothing short of seeing Jesus himself standing before her would change her. Frankly I am doubting that as well. Barb's soul is dead, she is self-absorbed and narcissistic.

You have posted some wonderful stories on this site. For the life of me I can't understand why you can't allow Barb to grow into a nicer person. Love heals a many wounds. Allow a love and respect to grown between Barb and Thorne. This shit of her being a bitch is getting old fast.

I'm loving this story but I agree with the last comment, Barbs bitchiness is getting old. I can see subtle signs of change starting but would like to see more to speed it up, also Thorne seems to be acting like a dictator with his "you have 3 options" and I'd like to see Barb tell him to stuff his options and start being a mate to her. Yes she is a bitch but he's not much better, he can't expect her to want to change and be nice when he constantly barks orders at her. I guess one of them needs to start the change but which one? Just my 2 cents :)

I hope real soon Barbra has a come through with the way she thinks and her throne and the baby and be a great family together but trails is what is going to make there love and family stronger. I'm glad you didnt change Barb I dont think I want her to become nice, I just see her in a bad light too much to see her good. I hope she takes the 1st option. Although some are clamoring for Barb to change already, I love the pace of her evolution. Barb has been self-centered all of her life. She claims she doesn't want this or that, but I don't think she's really taken a look inside herself to know what she wants. All her reactions seems to be done without a gut check, meaning she doesn't think, she just does things out of habit.

She is now starting to think and I feel the baby will continue to communicate his feelings to her. The first sign to change is to question and she has started doing this. The fact that she believes the baby understands her is a step toward understanding herself.

No one changes over night and Barb and Thorne have not been together that long. I would have thought less of the story if she was suddenly a new person. You are letting us see the little changes in her rather than unrealistically making it a total and sudden reversal. I think all of your other characters had happy endings, I don't see that changing for Barb and Thorne. Thorne is a hard man, but he had reason and Barb has confirmed all the bad feelings he had toward women. He has been in my opinion abundantly patient with her.

Barb will come around, of that I have no doubt, but there will probably be a traumatic catalyst which opens her eyes completely. Right now, I don't think she even likes herself. Other people cannot make you happy, nor can money. In order to have happiness, it has to start with oneself. Barb hasn't figured that out yet. Here's hoping that she will.

For the first time, I actually feel sorry for Barb. I was angry with her and even said that I did not like her, however, if she can't see the love that her family has for her it is truky sad. I am hoping for epiphany for her sake. I am hoping that the queen shows up and put Rufus in order and deals with Harry. Keep it going!!!!
