Like your story, a similar event once happened to me. Not to work as a naked waiter, or whatever but was offered £385,000 for a 18 month contract in west Africa for a large oil company. I did ask why is this job offering available, clearly a well paid job. My predecessor had been beheaded along with his bodyguard traveling into a village 1.5km from the work camp.
