In ch.1, Tom's father was Killed and mom mourned heavily for quite a while. I was taken aback when you wrote about nothing being said about mother being penetrated by other men once his father came home. It's only sex. Then later it was acknowledged that dad was indeed gone. It was confusing for a bit. Other than that, I really enjoyed the story!
