Darkness: why are we afraid?

when brightest day yields to darkest night,
my spirits fall, my storm clouds loom.
my eye lids droop, I try to fight,
but alas, it seems, they've sealed my tomb

Then morning comes and I awake,
push back the dark, and rise again!
My fears are gone, I didn't break,
the night is dead, but I remain.

and so you see, it seems to be
that dark and light, both fade with time.
if ones does fall, the other shall rise,
its a timeless race, an endless climb.
