All Comments on 'Can This Marriage Be Saved?'

It all goes to prove normal is just what you expect. It reminds me of the various "Mirror, Mirror" episodes where the villains and heroes swap places. In this case, I loved the twist of BDSM being the norm, and "making love" was a kinky sidebar to marriage in sexual doldrums. What's funny is that in the story, the husband was from a "kinky" background and reverting to type in his affair. He obviously wasn't getting what he craved from his wife. Sure, he felt guilty and swore he'd get right back to "straight" sex with his wife because of social pressure.

However, beyond the chuckles it's tragic- the husband's sexual tastes haven't changed, he's just chosen to forego them. It just goes to show, you gotta respect people's true sexual tastes and enjoy them or let them be with somebody who will. That takes trust, honesty, and a willingness to be flexible. sex flunked that standard by a country mile.

This is satire in the vein of Johathan Swift! It is very cleverly done.
