The very nature of your premise, of a wife who regrets what she is doing but does it over and over again, becomes redundant after one or two chapters. All you wind up doing it rewriting the same chapter. Added to the fact that the basic plot points, as were already mentioned, passed the point of cliche a long time ago means that the more you try the less you achieve.
