awesome story. Sequel?!

I was half reminded of Brett Easton Ellis's ' Less then Zero '. That novel's main characters knew everything & yet nothing. I'm curious about the mom actually. What has she got that a rich, independent younger man with options is in her thrall.?The bf's has potential too as a character. How does he make his money? Is he working out an Oedipus complex?

The world being what it is- some tension, jealousy or otherwise could be explored between mom/daughter. This could be good on several levels, if author has time & ambition.
