Very well-told. I can tell that this poor girl is in for a lot more trouble. Can't wait to see what happens next.

I'm forced to think that an estate in Vermont is something less than what it is in the 22 states and 16 foreign countries I have been in. In all those places, if a girl had an estate, she wouldn't be working in some greasy spoon or half-fast food joint. What did I miss?
