This plot line, though so far unspoken, is pretty unique from the stories I've read here. That her parents, though mostly her mother, seem intent on making their daughter into this rich kid's plaything is certain. WHY isn't so far.

Honestly, I'm feeling quite sorry for this girl. Her parents may have short term goals, but appear to think nothing of their daughter's reputation and future.
