It's like no one really cared - they were so unfeeling, about it. you need to work a bit on your character development - original idea though

They cared, but what were they going to say? She was a a stranger to most of them, and there was some time skipped in there. They might've said something that we just didn't see.

A slowly starting story - good!

And they definitely do care, they just aren't wordy about it. Or anything else either.
