"Little one, you do amaze me." Xander was next to place a kiss on her cheek, his fingers trailing the afterburn. He shook his head as if still dazed and then walked out of the room, followed by Cole.
"You okay?" Paris asked once they were alone.
"I just don't want this to end." Her words very nearly came out in a sob but Hannah was used to keeping the tears at bay, so she blinked away the emotion.
Paris was silent for a moment. He stroked Hannah's hair, tracing the path down her back. She was chilled now that the afterglow was wearing off and, as silly as it seemed, she wanted the comfort of Xander's sweater.
Finally, Paris spoke. It was soft, barely a whisper. "Neither do I."
