There is a good introduction and a nice build-up in this chapter. As always, the writing is very good, and there is excellent character description and development as the story unfolds. While the author maintains that this chapter (and others in this series) can be read as stand-alone stories, for this reviewer it is much better to read them all in the proper order, not only to properly appreciate the development of the story, but also of the characters. Each other the female characters has her own special characteristics and qualities, which the author brings through to the reader very effectively. This is truly excellent story-telling.
