Great story telling and delighted to see the second chapter in this series. Having said that, Allowing Eleanor to witness Gail’s punishment seems odd to me. Eleanor’s punishment was quite rightly independent of Gail and determined by the court. Further, Eleanor’s adherence was ensured by monthly visits with her correctional officer.

While Gail’s claims were deemed frivolous the rationale of Eleanor hanging about to witness Rose and Gail’s punishment escapes me – especially in a society that penalizes women who disgrace other women. This likely detracts from the humiliation aspect; still, such an allowance seems counter to justice and pride a society such as seems to value.
