Returning to the deck to celebrate his catch she handed the bottle to Oscar. "I could not pop the cork." He did it with ease and poured each of them a glass, a swift toast to Esperanza made her blush. "To one damn fine piece of ass." Randolph winced, Ron kissed her on the cheek then made his way upstairs to fire up the engines. Randolph took his glass and gave the married couple space.
"You been cryin'?" Oscar noticed her eyes.
"You...make me very happy Husband."
"Makes two of us. We hit the archipelago I want you to keep an open mind."
"What do you mean?"
"You heard me."
"Yes Husband."
Pulling her head back by her hair he kissed her long and hard. She melted in his embrace. Love was there, but so was disappointment. In failing her daughter she was dying inside, yet forced to smile. Wondering what Maria was doing right now made her retreat and lay her head on Oscar's shoulder. It was better to let him think she was truly happy.

SZENSEIabout 4 years agoAuthorI like writing this series. While yes it can almost seem silly at points how naïve Maria is concerning her brothers, it makes for an entertaining premise on how one girls lost innocence is welcomed by a need to be a woman. Over the top absolutely, but as long as she's having a blast doing it all who are we to judge. I think as the series progresses the entire Barnett family is going to grow up with her.
Esperanza got herself into this mess, let's wait and see how she climbs and claws her way out. Her follow up chapter is a couple away rather like she and Oscar...it will be called SHARE HOLDER. Already written so it's just a patience game. I like writing way ahead and putting out a chapter every 3 weeks or so to build excitement. I've written up through Chapter 14 thus far.
The next 2 Chapters belong to Maria and of all people...Aunt Harriet...wait isn't she deceased?
