Pam was being a bitch and more or less deserved to be cheated on. But Ryan didn't deserve his wife committing adultery. If he had given her specific permission while he was away at sea, then that would have been different, but that wasn't the case here.
Even though this is fiction, you should have your main characters be likable, good people. Loving someone, sister or wife is a good attribute. Cheating isn't. If you have an Antagonist character that you want the readers to frown on, then have them do despicable deeds like adultery or cheating. 3/5
