I liked this and would have rated it higher if it had been longer. As it is, making the selection took more time than reading the story.

... orphaned stories are just so depressing. Applause to coming back, especially as it has been that long. Better with a decent short chapter than not at all. Keep us - and Brittany - surprised in future chapters.
