It was also interesting to see the sexual dynamic between our hero and his wife. She knows she wields power and is doing it freely and unapologetically. If he didn't love her so damned much, he could have refused her-- set her back on her heels and let her be insecure for once. But maybe that's too vengeful for a story like this one?
