I collapsed on my hands hyperventilating and sobbing. I begged God for it not to be true. I felt the slight breeze of the papers being put down in front of me. I couldn't look at them. I heard my mom fall to her knees and embrace me. My mother sobbing with me at the demise of my marriage. I felt my father kneel beside me and heard him pick up the papers. A few moments later he whispered into my ear,

"Read it Chloe, read it right now."

I brought my head up off my hands and my father slide the papers in front of me. I opened my eyes and read the papers.

I truly believe that you are sorry.

Not all cheaters deserve another chance, but you do.

I forgive you and I love you, Chloe.

I stood up and buried my head in my husband's chest. Eventually, Mitch and my parents left. Leaving only Sean and me. I snuggled into Sean's side on the couch, looked at him with tears in my eyes and more love than even on our wedding day, and said.

"I don't deserve you sweetie, but I'll spend the rest of my life making sure, you never regret giving me another chance, to prove how much I truly love you."

EPILOGE

After getting cleared for STDs, and a more than a few false starts, Sean and I finally made love again after two months. As short as it was, it was by far to this day, the best sex and love making in my life, as I cried tears of joy and pleasure. Those of you who have cheated know what I'm talking about. That moment of reconnecting touches you on a whole different level.

What makes that night even more special was that I got pregnant with my twin children, Mikkel and Abigail. My husband forgiving me, getting pregnant and having the dream of a boy and girl, proved, at least to me, that something out there exists. I've done everything under the sun to prove my trustworthiness to Sean.

I downloaded a tracking app, I video call him multiple times a day, I even put a GPS tracker on my car. I know that he trusts me again, but I have never and will never put myself in a position for him to question it again.

Stephanie and I are still best friends. While things have thawed out a little bit between Sean and her, I think that it's permanently damaged. He told me what he said on the front porch that day. I got a bit mad at him, not for implying that he'd fuck her, as I brought it up between the three of us. Which I know she wants, and I do as well so that this last ping of guilt and pain would go away, but because of what he called her that day. "Whiskers" was a name she was teased with in high school because of the hair on her lip.

I do not know for sure what happened to James. He never tried to contact me afterwards and I wouldn't have spoken to him if he tried. I have a suspicion that he's dead though. Every year on the anniversary of the day I cheated, Meredith gives me a single black rose with the J, in silver glitter on it. She then kisses me on the cheek and tells me to take care of her son and grandbabies and leaves.

So we have 18 year old high school sophomores doing the nasty. At this rate (4 more years of HS and 8 yrs of college) she would be about 28 before she got out of college.

Now this is a reconciliation that work, splendid author, we can see the wife's remorse and her doing all she can to get a second chance, even going far as to put GPS etc etc.. we feel her remorse and her need to tell her husband about what she's done, unlike all those ridiculous reconciliation author stories out there such as Ohio, cavigagurl et etc you author did a splendid remorseful wife character and a well behaved husband no wimpy cuck, and thank God his family was not into pressuring him on taking her back it was all him.. Good story,

Very, very few times would I agree with a spouse taking back one that cheated. This one as you presented the tale is acceptable.BUT I most certainly would have her sign a prenup before doing so.My experience seeing this scenario in life play out (more times than it ever should),is the wife though very thankful and grateful for the forgiveness, sometime after the trama has died down, subconsciously had lost some respect for her husband as a man for excepting her infidelity. Many times down the road the divorce does happen because knowing "he forgave me once,he'll do so again" and she counted on it if she got caught again...In cases of infidelity involving acquaintance/friends the divorce occurs immediately or a few years down the road 3 out of 5 times..4stars good story
