I really hope they find a colony. The shakers are strong, they should have been fine with the flyers, the fact that the flyers outnumbers them is so sad! Especially from how nice they seem! Also, is the third kind a water based species? Maybe other shakers are near water? Flyers I assume would attack both, plus both live near the ground, would make sense if they had some kind of alliance somewhere!

I really like this story, it's very sweet.

All around well done. The pace is a nice sometimes a touch slow for me but otherwise it's coming along nicely
