Bullshit

Sorry but this is NOT a romance. I would have given this 4 stars as an erotica coupling, but as it is it gets 1.

Sorry you think so. It's a true story. And it's my truth.

SithLord poses an interesting question, not just for this story but for others posted in this category on Literotica. So let's examine the established definitions of romance:

Romance: an exciting, usually short, relationship between two people who are in love with each other. [Oxford Dictionary]

Romance: A love story, especially in the form of a novel. [Merriam-Webster Dictionary]

Romance: A relationship between two people who are in love with each other but who are not married to each other. Romance also refers to the actions and feelings of people who are in love, especially behavior which is very caring or affectionate. [Collins English Dictionary]

Romance: A feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love. [Art Forum]

Romantic: Of, relating to, or involving love between two people. [Merriam-Webster Dictionary]

Romance Genre: Stories of romance and love, which are generally on a deeper relationship level than stories in other categories. This story category focuses on falling in love, being in love, and developing a loving relationship. [LushStories]

Romance Genre: Stories feature drama, love, risk, and happily-ever-afters. [Literotica]

Romance Genre: Stores that center around individuals falling in love and struggling to make the relationship work. [Romance Writers of America]

Romance novel or romantic story generally refers to a type of genre fiction which places its primary focus on the relationship and romantic love between two people. [Wikipedia]

Erotic Romance: Stories in which strong, often explicit, sexual interaction is an inherent part of the love story, character growth and relationship development and could not be removed without damaging the storyline.

[Romance Writers of America]

Uh-hum... By any of the above definitions, this story easily qualifies as a romance.

Longtime reader, first time commenter…

This story clearly belongs in the romance category. The male protagonist begins the story with one emotional attitude and concludes the story with a very different emotional attitude because of his romantic fling with this woman. A couple unexpected twists occur along the way. Beginning, middle, and end.

Because of its emotional eroticism, I’d judge this story as a solid 4.5 or better, and because someone improperly downvoted it to a 1.0 owing to a nonsensical genre quibble, I’m scoring it as 5.0 by way of counterbalance.

too short!

This is an outstanding romance story, but it is much too short. Because if this, it deserves two or more subsequent chapters. It also deserves a 5 Star rating.
