I thought this series started stronger than the level it has reached at this stage. My suggestion would be to add some more contrast to the action. As you said in the beginning, slavery can be hard to, with boredom, depression etc, coming in. The slaves have led normal, ‘full’ lives, and they were conditioned to that, so there will be a backlash.

Interesting, this is turning into more of a BDSM bondage fantasy with legal public nudity than a legal slave story. These two have not suffered any of the uncertainty and pain that is common for slaves.
