OH WELL!

Pages and pages again of a weak willed man taking back a cheating wife. With all this author's work, one just needs to read the start and the end. What's in between is purely subtle and drawn out emasculation.

Well, Hell

This story would have been better if "Hugh" had put a pistol in his mouth and painted

the ceiling with his brains. Then I wouldn't have had to endure so many pages of self

pitying maudlin tripe while looking for something interesting to happen.

Garbage

I have read some bullshit RAAC stories, but this was just garbage.... Utterly unreadable once it was clear he was taking the cheating cunt back..... 1****, but won't even bother to vote on this POS......

All is well ..:

I have to disagree with the other comments. Love is a funny thing and transends logic. Betrayal and violation of trust can kill love, but it is hard to erase decades of feeling completely. And, let's face it, he was no saint. It is a somewhat artificial line to say that what he did was ok but she crossed the line by going farther then he did. She appears to have forgiven him and he appeared not to feel he did any wrong, which I found odd, but he betrayed her trust as surely as she did his. I was surprised that wasn't explored more, and somewhat surprised he fought her off so long.

Overall I enjoyed the story.

Pathetic

What a garbage. The most pathetic male character I have ever read about. Like I say a lot in conversations with other people: this society is getting sicker every day, and you get to experience it first hand with the total emasculation of man.

Love your writing

But hate this story.

So she fucks her husband and family over just because she decided to be a fucking whore?

Goddamned cheap shit!

I have negative respect for a bitch that just kept fucking everyone's life away!

Hugh came off very wimpy and pathetic. He should have dished some pain to Richard as well as his idiot whore of a wife.

Great Story

The author showed that FAMILY comes first. When Nicole needed Mary & Hugh, they remembered FAMILY to put their differences, hurt, and feelings aside. for her sake.

After Mary fessed up there is no way Richard Kelly, gets off free. He ground Mary down, he would not take NO for an answer. He needs to pay.

Mary did a lot but when she said “I’ll let you be with other women just don’t make me watch”, it shows that she wants be in Hugh’s life not matter what it takes. She will take the humiliations & pain with the hope that Hugh will just let her be part of his life. No wonder Hugh finally let Mary back.

Conflicted

1st, thank you for writing. You can obviously tell a story. What makes this a good story for me, and not a great one, is that many of the characters seem like caricatures. They are over the top. Couple that with our hero also being a cheat, and there is really no one in the story that I like very much, and that makes it hard to take the story seriously, or really care about its outcome.

She Ain't Worth It!

God, what a heartless, self-centered, deranged slut! The love Hugh once had for her is DEAD! Going forward with her is a huge mistake, only further heartbreak lies ahead.

A very entertaining story, but I still despise Mary! (And many of the other female characters in DQS stories. Just as the author intended, of course.)

Going back to drop 5* on the other parts.

Getting over your wife cheating is one thing. Getting over the grade A crazy his wife put him through? Aw HELL no. Maybe I've never loved a woman like some people love a woman or maybe I'm just not crazy. Couldn't say.

I can say, he's a high level bank executive in an organization with MANY banks-and his wife has a job that keeps her on the road? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! And his son is doing the same thing. A noted brain surgeon with a wife still working as an RN? Really? Exactly how much money do you need?

I love your stuff tho it hurt to read it. I could not have done what Hugh did. I must say that I was really disappointed with him. Tho my story isn't exactly the same, it has been 26 yrs. I would rather die alone. How fucked up is that? Or is it? I have another lady now. It is not the same but I don't think it ever could be...like the ladies say "He was not better than you, just different." Got what I need maybe it wasn't what I wanted or had...maybe it's better. I can't really say but I can say that regarding the ex, I would rather die alone. But that's just me!

Great read. 5*s for sure.

Love your stories

I love your stories and how they all make references to each other. I keep hoping you eventually write a story where Robert Sandler and Gail get back together somehow since for some reason I love the idea. The rich heiress ending up with the former teacher. I would want to read how they first got together but since we know how that ended... yeah, no. Lol. But I keep hoping they do end up together and you write that story.

Either way, another great series which is realistic since, to be blunt, we all make mistakes that we deeply regret. For him to reject her when he obviously loves her deeply is just petty. I also like how you made it so they have to work through it. There's no magic cure where he gets over it and they get back together. They have to work at it and even then, there'll always be a ghost/shadow of what happened. The fact they're willing to work through it shows how deeply they love each other.

Hope you start writing again since its been two years!

Satisfied at the end ...

Thanks for this fine story. Throughout, it was very creative, and although I hated Mary by the end of the first chapter, I had to return to it and continue reading just to see what could possibly follow. I must say that I've seldom felt such strong emotions of dislike, as I did for her, and that is surely a testament to your skills as a writer.

Throughout the following chapters, I got a bit lost with his adventures with other women, and felt that I was straying from the original plan of the story, but as the end came into sight, I began to feel better about Mary.

It's hard to remember that all of this turmoil took place over just a handful of years. They were both still rather youngish, middle-aged people with many more years to go. I'm satisfied that they will be able to spend their remaining years back together.

Hugh states, at the very end, that he trusts her again ....... I, however, cannot. Thanks, with a smile.

One of your better ....

I'm personally back and forth when it comes to reconciliation after cheating but this is one of the few I liked, granted she cheated, but when she was done running she was willing to do what was necessary to atone, you made your characters (in this one at least) relatable both through there family interactions and how they interacted with the world around them, so overall a pleasant read.

Running from themselves

An interesting, well written story of two people who tried to hide their basic weakness and cowardice behind walls of self-deception, martyrdom and pride. I don't know whether it was honesty or desperation that reunited them in the end - but it was the only sane outcome.

Some of the negative comments about this story are completely idiotic.

I may not approve of the behaviour of the main characters but to argue that '...because I don't agree with their actions it must be a rubbish story...' is beyond ludicrous. If the sole criterion for judging the merits of a story is whether the characters' behaviour conforms to your personal desires and morality, I suspect that Shakespeare, Dickens and Dostoevsky's work would never have seen the light of day.

A good read but . .

DQS is a very compelling writer, I should know - I have read most of his stories now. DQS seems to like large tits but fails to write anything truly erotic about them. I'm not keen about 'Burn the Bitch' approach OR Reconciliation at all costs'. I prefer the guilty to accept the consequences of their actions. Similarly, I would like to understand why, after all his wife, Mary, has done [for example; laughing at her husband with her lover, when he can hear], why Hugh still loves her. It was stated many times but never gave any reasonable explanation? This strikes me as unrealistic.

This author

Can definitely write, however, he writes about the most disgusting piece of shit, worthless women that apparently only have beauty and bedroom skills going for them and the way they treat the men who love them as well as the rest of their family would make gutter rats ashamed.

It would be interesting to see if he could write about human women for a change instead of lizards posing as.

A NOTE TO ALL YOU 'TOUGH FUCKS'.

Don't be so damned quick to throw rocks. You might THINK you're too fucking tough to allow yourself to ever let your cheater get back next to you but, until you've worn those clothes and walked in those shoes, keep your hands off the rock pile. I thought the same way until I had my guts ripped out by the cheating slut that I was married to... and then had her rub my nose in it for a while before she begged to come home. Like the sign-off line of this story, "I loved the bitch", I took her back and let my guts be shredded for another six years before I just couldn't take it anymore. She didn't change.... she just had it made, financially, and soon went back to alternating between being my best friend/lover and being a first class bitch/deadly enemy. I didn't know which of the two I was coming home to for supper. Her gynecologist knew us and most of what was going on between us and, one day he said, "You must have cast iron innards. With the shit you put up with from her, you should have ulcers the size of silver dollars." A year or so later, I left and put an end to it. It's been years and I know I still love the bitch but I wouldn't piss on her if she was on fire. She hasn't fared any better but she'll never truly admit her guilt to anything. She's a cheating slut who once admitted that she'd never found anyone better. I knew what she was finagling for and I said, "At least you'll always have that to remember." then got up and left her sitting there.

'Twas a well written fairly realistic story of a life that everyone hopes to God never happens to them. Imagine having that shit happen and you don't have the money that this guy has. THAT is REAL life... the way of the real world. I gave it five stars.

In a majority of literotica stories,

Men with pride , bacbone and honor became an endagered species. Maybe thats the way in US. I read that men are trained from birth to be submisive to winen, to put them on a pedestal. Open dors, hold it for them. Them first in everything. No matter how much the manpussies will scream that in their marriage is equality a partnership, truth is, they will never overstep the wife word. Women trough the most important manipulatiob rule the man life without him realizing. Thats why when he gets shit on by her, he takes it, because he is condition from birth to accept it by his mother. Some fight back, but they are few. Love. Many will say love is making them stay. Wrong. Love without being sustained by the other party will die in time like a fire without nothing to burn any longer. Look at the majority of young men walking down the streets. From the back or front you barely distinguished them from women by beards abd if not the adam apple. They became to much effeminate, emasculate. Slowly the women in our society started to wear the panta in the relashionships. They dictate everything, the pace , the bases, the mariage, how many kids, how much money on a house, wich house, wich friends, how many beers, how you dress, what you eat, the give you a goal abd you run for it like a dog after the stick.many will start bashing me, you have that right, but first sit and think about your life and how much of your decisions were influenced by the women in your life. My grandfather, god rest his soul, ww2 veteran, in his last days said in his time men were men and women were women. Now its women are women and men are hermafrodites, depending of the situation. Dqs, write beautifuly, ton of talent, but his stories are best example of what i am talking about. In this story only i can name 2 or 3 characters that were likable, the rest were either big titied cheating whores, or just whores, either the men were asholes , master of seductions( i hate this word, truth is there is no master of section, a sayng here is: if a female dog doesnt raise her tail the male dog cant fuck her, meneanig a woman wich by nature are attuned to subtelty and manipulatuobs, doesnt want to be seduce you would not succeed.) Or men wich suffer of martyrdom like the male mai character. He only neded a 9 tails whip for self flagelation and he will be a saint. The story left a bitter taste after reading it.

DQS1 develops characters better than most writers, and this is one of the best examples of his work. Molding it seamlessly into the other stories published is just another winsome trait.

DQS1

When I read authors' submissions I try to keep an open critical mind. Now with this particular serial I started off OK...but the more the characters and plot developed the more subjective I became. I was moved by the story and I desperately needed closure that included at least a shred of hope. I thank you for delivering that with your final chapter. Your plots and strong 3D characters bring a vitality to all your tales. I look forward to reading more of your works.

it hurts

i wont judge. i don't feel the wife suffered like he did. he just loved her enough to live with the constant painful reminders. she never admitted to loving him less than he loved her. she never fully owned up to it. she got real close to it, right up to the line of self actualization...and ran scared back to her comfort zone.

this is why cheating is so destructive. i think she loved him ...almost...the same way he loved her. almost. maybe 20% less love. but she'll suffer in her own way. this is why the best advice is to cut these people out of your life. love isn't set in stone. he could have easily moved on if he allowed the healing process to begin. i too was deeply betrayed by a woman that claims soul mate and all that other bunk. and i really believe she loved me...just a lot less than I did her. I'm honestly happier without her. It was getting more and more toxic, cheating is just the icing on the cheater cake.

anyone that can drive you to suicide is bad for you. you either purge your love enough to where that's no longer an issue, or you cut them loose. it was a missed opportunity for him to grow colder towards her. like...love her less. like she loves him less. she basically admitted she looked for better and couldn't find it. that's a red flag. he's her fall-back. he didn't start out that way, but it's obvious he became her fall-back. she was always his godess...and that sort of worship is toxic.

I AGREE WITH THE PREVIOUS COMMENT BY ANONY

I've just this read this soap opera through twice, and in the end that’s what it is – a soap opera (but a very good one). And like all soap operas it exaggerates the good and bad aspects of human behavior, especially the bad, because this is what gives it the emotional punch that keeps us reading.

The first time I read it I had to stop after the first chapter. His pain was too much, the emotion it generated in me too raw. This is a sign of really good writing, when the reader feels this sort of response, and it worked in my case. DQS painted a wife who was so callous, so selfish and so unthinkingly cruel when she told Hugh what she had done and was still doing that I hated her immediately.

I then read the last two chapters and saw that they sort of reconciled, but I couldn’t buy it. Any wife of 36 years who did what she did would be dead to me. In real life marriages fail, and despite the pain people do move on so I found Hugh’s inability to get over her implausible, especially for a successful guy who has no trouble attracting younger women. Many have said he was a wimp, and in regard to his inability to get over Mary he was, but this is the character that DQS wanted and it’s his fantasy so I’ll accept it.

The story bothered me on many levels, one of them being the ages of Hugh and Mary. I wasn’t convinced that a supposedly happily married women in her mid-to-late fifties would/could do what she did, especially with a guy about 10 years younger who was also married with a family. I could imagine a successful, wealthy guy in his fifties taking up with a younger woman, because this is what we often see in real life, but not the other way around.

And then for the younger guy to actually divorce his wife to take up with a much older women is really stretching the bounds of credulity. If DQS had made Hugh and Mary to be in their late thirties or early forties it would have been more realistic, in my opinion.

I’ve now read the whole story in one hit, and if anything, my opinion has been reinforced. Mary is toxic to Hugh. If this were real life then he would have as little to do with her as possible and get on with life. The less contact he has with her, the quicker he’ll heal.

When we read these cheating-wife stories we often put ourselves in the protagonist’s position (this is part of the allure of these stories, where we are given an opportunity to ask ourselves what we would do in a similar situation), and if I were Hugh then I would have looked forward. I would have done things I had put off. I would relish planning a new future based on what I wanted (selfish perhaps, but part of the healing process).

Overall a good story, and up to the usual DQS writing skills, but still unrealistic and depressing as hell.

some men take a cheating wife back in real life. Women do it all the time. But where are the men who just can't get over a wife they have divorced? All the divorced men I know married younger women and moved on. Outside of country songs, where are these men who just can't let go?

HA HA - SCHWANZE, THEY ALL END UP IN LITEROTICA STORIES!

The same applies to wives who've remained faithful throughout their married lives until BAM, the slut ray hits them right between the eyes and they go down in a smoldering heap of cheating, whoring sluttery (I think I just made that word up, but it sounds so good I think I'll keep it).

Wonder if Plato, Socrates, Biblical writers sloshed in alcohol so much?

Seems that LW authors use Hemingway or Miller or others as models: get drunk and write what you know. Must make the liquor brewers ecstatic.

AnonymousAnonymousover 5 years ago
The men are always hopelessly imprinted and unable to move on.

The wife gets to slut around until shes tired of it and grab her ex back because he is crippled for other relationships and she knows her best years are behind her.Whats missing of course is that you don't do that to people you love actually, the rest is just "painting lipstick on a pig.

Literotica authors(a lot) seem to equate deepness and thought to how much you can degrade and humiliate and then put in reasonable terms the acceptance of it.

I truly appreciate your writing style and if I was simply just reading this chapter I would be fine with the ending. But I binge read the story and I couldn’t shake the cold heartedness in which Mary threw away THIRTY SIX YEARS! It’s because it was so well written that I can criticize the characters as if they were people. No I don’t think a husband would lay down like that(until that email) but you could feel his hopelessness in the situation just as real as you could feel Mary’s temporary lust insanity and guilt/shame/hatred. The emotions were all too real and even with this ending still just made me feel sad. Thanks for sharing. ;0)

Oddly enough, this read through I got a sense of empathy of sorts for the Richard Kelly guy.... I suppose it helps that I know someone named Richard Kelly. Anywho, he falls for a woman 10 years older than he is (I mean, she was in her 50's, right?) and she dumps him for her old, fat, balding, ex. Admittedly Kelly was an arrogant toad... but he was also seeing something in the Mary character that was enough for him to leave his wife and mess up his life.

The only good thing I can say

Is that DQS has the talent to make a reader get so invested in his protagonists that, when he finally gets around to screwing them over thoroughly, it is so infuriating that you want to hurl your your reading device through a massive picture window.

One star for a "cold blooded troubleshooter" that is perfectly capable of firing people, knowing that they'll likely commit suicide, but can't seem to manage getting over a wife that fucked him over and continued to make life hell for years afterwards.

Well....

I know this author has a devoted following, but, objectively, this tale had far too many cliches, stereotypes, and tired tropes to work well. Worse, it read as if it were a draft for a saccharine Hallmark Channel or Lifetime movie. "Hugh" was also hard to recognize as a man, not because of the reconciliation, but because his mental processes and psychology seemed feminine, or at least not recognizable as masculine.

This author has done better.

Great series from a good author.

The themes of betrayal and pain abound, but I must make one observation -- the part where his son was so distraught over the loss of his "ROCK" when his parents split and how it effected his marriage. That was deep thinking because most authors don't really hit deeply on the collateral damage. I can see that and how Mary's actions could destroy her son's marriage.

Really!

"She fell into another man's bed, fucked him and kept it a secret from you. She made a mistake and let her pussy think for her for six months, but remember you let your dick do your thinking for months while you were going right up to the brink of fucking other women too!

So is the author saying "Hey ladies, if you trip and fall on another mans dick while your married it's OK if your really sorry about it? And that's the same as a guy playing fingers and grab ass but, not going as far a penis in vagina?

Seems like quite the double standard.

There is a rabbit hole you fell into.

Love is not lust. Sex is not the Final solution. Pain is not the fire that purifies. There are deeds which eliminate the ability to overlook. Finally, there is indeed morality. Life is not an 18th century Russian novel.

Well, that was something ...

... I'm just not sure what it was. ... Not a fun read at all. These are very odd people, none of whom I would want as friends. I doubt even years of therapy would help. He says, "sometimes you can get what you need" but it seem that, for some, you only get what you deserve. Eww.

If Richard had been a decent person she'd have married him and forgot completely about her ex husband.

He's fucking Richard's leftovers. He's her second string orgasm since the man who really rings her chimes no longer wants her.

Fine, he deserves what he got, and what he lost. Lots of decent wholesome truly beautiful women to replace the whore Mary. His loss. Serves him right. Fag cuck shit.

Thanks for the effort.

Some People Don't Get It

I sometimes wonder if the people who criticize this story have ever loved anyone at all. Perhaps lusted, or had a fondness for, but not love; the kind of love you feel in your bones. When that person cheats on you, you are devastated. You can't not be. There's less devastation, less hurt if you don't love someone. It's easy to kick them to the curb. The other kind, not so easy. In a relationship of 35 or 36 years, there are so many memories, some bad, but mostly good, because the good tends to outshine the bad. You can't walk away from your own memories, which is why it's so hard to break clean. Lots of things happen in marriages. They all have ups and downs, but it it was mostly ups, you take a few downs with it. Life is not black and white; it's shades of gray. Even though Hugh never went all the way, he was tempted. He was a little stronger in that moment than Mary was. Doesn't mean what he did was right, nor was Mary right. But it doesn't mean he was wrong letting her back in his life. He may never trust her completely again. Broken trust is hard to win back, but his life would be a lot emptier without Mary in it, than it would be if she is. He realized that. It's not like he has the time to develop those same memories with anyone else; have children, build a life, a home. Is Gail happier with her life than Hugh with his?

I Think DQS is one of the better writers here .. Sadly this is not her best work . I could not figure out if Gail was a Friend or not . I also could not figure out if Hugh was a Cluck or not

Loved it, start to finish. All the characters

Object lesson:

a.) Eastern version: "Karma hurts when it bites you in the ass."

b.) Archaic version: "What thou doest shall be done unto you."

c.) Street version: "Payback a motherfucker, Jiiim."

Author, you seem to love stories about slut wives, tough guys who are wimps to their slut wives and impossible unrequited love situations between the two.

One can cop this before it wears somewhat thin. I hope before I finish your tales I find some stories with the sluts being shown the curb with NO forgiveness for a change and with the sainted male finding a better woman, bet I don’t though.

3/5

I’m usually a BTB man, but that being said I do enjoy a well constructed RAAC and this turned out to be one of them.

Why?

Because this story brought back memories of my own hopelessly in love mess over 50 years ago. It was in the 70s, l met a girl whose sister was going out with a friend of mine. We clicked.

Within a year we were engaged. Her parents were strict, and she moved in with a girlfriend from the Legal office where she worked.

I was studying and still lived at my parents because I had no income. But I stayed at her flat with her every weekend and When I was on leave. It was idyllic. We went out on the weekend partied and did things together and her GF when she was not attached. We were all close.

During the week she went out a couple of time a week clubbing with the flat mate.

I had three great years and was approaching the end of my course, so I would get a job and we’d move in together.

But one night when I got there she pulled me aside and dropped a bombshell. She had met another guy in her partying and we were through. I was gobsmacked.

She had been a wing for her GF in going out with a guy, he had a mate and they worked everything together. She fell in lust/ love with his mate and they were fucking. I did not have a clue.

Her GF was my enemy not my close friend after all. Betrayed.

She offered a farewell fuck and fuck me, I did it. But I just fucked her and fucked her hard, no orgasms for her.

We then split and fell into the usual normal messy painful break up. We even fought tooth and nail over a squash racket!!!!!!

But split we did and it took me nearly three years to get over it. Every girl l met was measured against her.

I finally got free because of, believe it or not, a threesome.

I met a girl at a dinner party, took her home, and fell into her bed. Met her boyfriend next morning over breakfast, they were fighting and I cucked him by accident.

I stayed the weekend and fell into bed with her flatmate, Alannah.

Margaret and her BF fought over me and he walked out again.

That night, I stayed again and after a lot of booze and dope ended up in bed with both girls.

Now that was a big night, they used me up and did both of them twice that night and twice again on the following Monday. Just sex every hole.

It was heaven.

From day on l was free of Jenny, her ghost was exorcised. She had been a cheat to both me and him ( with me)

I later heard from a friend her GF broke up with hers and Jenny broke up as well. She moved on and married a guy and settled down and had kids.

Did l miss her, no. I was over her, we never met again.

This was my second read. The story amazes me how Hugh's emotions come through so easily I the written word. I laughed and cried with Hugh as he goes through this tremendous journey of Love, despair, hurt, anger, and return to Love and Acceptance with Mary. This story is a true classic. The characters became real. Wonderful story, ironed it. 5 Stars!

Another very good story. Such an enjoyable read. Surprised that Hugh and Mary didn’t try counselling. Either together or separate. Thanks

GrassIsGreenerGrassIsGreeneralmost 3 years ago

I really enjoyed this. I saw the reconciliation coming (and those are my favorites). In a way Peter's visit to Mary showed her what kind of an ass Richard was. It was sad. Two good people who got caught up in life and make mistakes.

When I read these stories about young love, I smile as I remember all the drama of youth and how silly it all was . . . oh, wait a minute, these people are supposed to be in their late 50s.

Obviously a very good writer but I felt this story dragged on a bit. Also I could not understand why the cheater refused to speak to her husband only exacerbating his hurt. She never even apologised. Still an excellent piece of writing.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 3 years ago

Well written, seemed to drag on in places, all in all I enjoyed the story very much

dgfergiedgfergiealmost 3 years ago

A good story and a bad story. You sort of want them back together and you sort of don't. Are you better off without her or with her? Why do people cheat? What the hell is love anyway? Is it sex, lust, wanting, processing? There can only be that first time thrill once, the it's over. Then the sex becomes routine and the thrill of that first time is gone. Maybe that's what cheaters want or get, that first time thrill or the thrill of getting caught or doing something wrong. The story seemed to bring that out but no real answers.

Good plot, well written. I enjoy this authors work. However, part 1 was the best of the series then the quality fell away somewhat. The 'heroes' of DQS1's stories tend to be an alpha males in an influential job who is cheated in love by a slut wife who has forgotten 'which side her bread is buttered on' (as we say in the UK). The author tends to overlook the failings of the cheated 'hero' such as excessive focus on career at the expense of wife and family (careerism). In this case the wife is travelling with work most of each week. No wonder she ends up cheating with Richard wots-his-name. Her husband (our 'hero') sounds like a complete bore who admits that he has no hobbies other than his work. She may have slut tendencies (which she admits), but I don't blame her for playing away given the boring life they lead at home. My only surprise is that they get back together at the end. BTW What does RAAC stand for? 5 stars with part 1 added to my favourites.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 3 years ago

Very, very good story. I'm really glad it had a happy ending and that Hugh and Mary were back together again. I really don't think the author adequately explained why Mary cheated and divorced Hugh or why Hugh never suspected anything.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 3 years ago

The clue on a multi-part story is when the reader ratings drop on the final part but I read this anyway. Oh well.
