I think that this story is going too far. Her father did not damage or threaten anyone's family, it was just money. A good story but I think it was wrong to involve the daughters.

when it comes to revenge, one hurts the person where it hurts him/her the most (without remorse) . hence, the children and his wife come into the picture.
