I think you’re my favorite writer on this site and I really liked this particular story. I would like to see one of these characters explain sometime that it isn’t “insecurity” that makes them believe it’s wrong for their spouse to have sex with someone else and they aren’t displaying a “lack of self confidence” just because they don’t have the same beliefs. (And the “Morse” character, despite his objections, was indeed centered around humiliating the husband. Otherwise there WOULDN’T BE a husband. He would be seducing hot and smart SINGLE girls at those parties - they do exist.)

I dont like that they got back together... I dont like the way they treat him as if he is wrong for doing all he did... I would have punch the guy already many times...

So, the story has potential, but in this set up, to me, is average ...

What a shitty story about a worthless slut and a wimpy cuck. The MC might as well be sucking the cum from the whores's pussy. Negative 5 stars!

Your a good writer, hell an awesome writer. You do everything well but what you write about stinks. This whole story is about a guy who can't stay the course. He makes decisions yet every time he allows himself to be side tracked and reverses his decision. A reader simply cannot get behind or even like your main character. As much as I appreciate your writing ability what you write turns me away. After reading 4 of your stories now, I have come to the conclusion the only way to improve what you do with a pen is to find yourself a real man to give you some true insight for your main characters in future stories, you know a guy whos word/hand shake is as binding as contract, has integrity, loyal, will give you the shirt off his back because he is your friend. I would like to believe that describes your average husband/father. If you can't find one, you are associating with the wrong crowd....JZK

Great đź‘Ť story a little long but well worthwhile

Excellent storyline and writing. It remains compelling to the end. The only thing I find hard to believe is how the wife fails to hear or believe the husband's warning. Lots of stories rely on that, and I just can't accept that a spouse of several years can hear that type warning and not take it seriously. In this case, Kayla just believes that escort Candice always gets her man? And hubby knows what's coming and doesn't storm back to the dance floor, and instead sits there with Candice? As soon as his boss offered him the promotion, he knew the full score, and so should have done everything to at least preserve his marriage. Still, this is probably the most plausible instance of that device I've read here.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

So it's confidence to stand there with men who have all paid to fuck your wife and not have it bother you? It's ok to tell the girls that the asshole is a closed topic, but have them keep bringing it up? It's ok for your wife to walk off for a dirty weekend when you told her no, but it's your fault that your morals say that if she does it, you're done? This story is written by a moron.

All the characters are attrocious, nobody got any good hard consequences. It is a real shame though, the story had great potential. I do hope that you get to live out this story with people foisting upon you a betrayal only to tell you that it's just your stupid ego and nothing to do morals, ethics or good values of any kind.

I also hope that when that happens those that do you wrong get off scot free and that you remember your story and accept your fate accorsingly.

He was a good man until the end, when he threw his morals away for a whore wife. He is, and will always be a weak, pussy whipped little cuckold.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

He was able to stick to his principles except for when he was pressurised by other idiots. When he was on his own he stood by what he wanted in life, when he was with others he was bent by them. If he realised that he would be ok. His ex-wife never ever apologised from the bottom of her heart or said she would never put another person in that position again. Thus, she has never fully learned from her mistakes, she keeps saying she is sorry but has never been devastated by her actions in how she has spoken to others. Her actions may give that impression, but she has never said it in words. Until she can do that, I would never trust her again. Why, because she has never shown is committed to her marriage. She never listened to her husband on that night because she wanted to be with another person, she was warned and never listened and to be honest I feel she still has not listened and taken it to heart. Further, the idiot (Rogan) still thinks it's a nothing to sleep with another's wife and thus I feel he will do the same to Candice. If Luke is not carful they will all end swapping wives with each other and he will be sucked into it. Then he will explode when he realises it. Part 2 should be about him and Kayla, (if he remarries her), distancing themselves from Rogan and Candice as social friends. Luke also needs a very robust pre-nuptial agreement so Karla does not end with his any of his business or most of his money. The writing is on the wall, but can Luke read it?

"I want you back, not just as a friend, I want my husband back."

- "I don't know. Seems like you want me back as long as I let a man I hate screw around in my life in ways i don't want."

Funny thing about Candice. She knew it would be Luke she was going to be the escort for *before* she slept with him, no way Rogan didn't tell her.

So she told Kayla that she *slept* with her ex when she *could* have told her that Rogan wanted to pay her to sleep with him.

Otherwise, Kayla would have been what, "That's ok, I guess I owe him one anyway."?

And Rogan was Ok with Candice having slept with all those guys he was talking to. Is he Ok with her sleeping with *more* guys now that they're married? And, if not, why not? Not like marriage vows mean anything to him.

Can't imagine what *their* vows would have been:

"Do you take her as your wife?"

"I do." (End of vows)

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

Candice kept piling on the pressure. "Luke, a lot of men with low self-esteem and insecurity issues would say no, because that's what they think they have to say. Don't turn down a chance to have a great adventure.

--- I almost wonder if Candice her represents thr author's viewpoint on this matter. While also writing the indignant husband, the Greek chorus in her stories almost always is similar in how they view infidelity as no big deal but male ego as the problem. Sad.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

"That's not true, I heard her on the phone talking to old douche bag there, and she told him I was leaving."

She turned quickly to Morse and snarled. "Is that true, Rogan?"

He shook his head. "No, what Candice said was Luke was still unsure. She thought he was thinking about it."

--- a real missed opportunity here that would never have been averted in real life. Rogan lied. The MC had already packed and moved out. Candice told him that on the phone and said he was going to destroy the marriage. She told Rogan to come back. There was silence (as Rogan talked on his side of the phone call) and then Candice relented but Rogan knew that the MC was following through on his threat. The MC would have called him out on this immediately in front of Kayla, who might not have been so inclined to think Rogan was a nice guy. Irl that never, ever would have snuck past. I guess that thr author got boxed in and let that slide since otherwise Kayla would turn on Rogan in a heartbeat and the author wanted Rogan to be hanging around later for the ending. Too bad.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

Yeah referring to the prior comment; if Kayla had learned the truth about the phone call she would have come to hate Rogan. But the author needed them to remain friends for the rest ofnthe story. Ergo the reality disconnect when they confronted the MC in his little SF apartment. It seems ridiculous that Kayla would remain friends with Rogan anyways. While ultimately it was her decision that killed their marriage, Rogan was the aggressor and took no for an answer and clearly blew up their marriage getting off on the seduction conquest. Any rational person would see this, even Kayla after the fact and especially once she went through counseling she would come to recognize Rogan as toxic. Another point is that at the start of the story, only the MC is an adult. Over time Kayla becomes an adult. By the end Candice is on her way to being an adult, but Rogan has never really grown up. I mention this because both Rogan and Candice at various points belittle the MC as not being an adult. Lastly, when did they get a divorce? I amnsure it occurred somewhere in the 2+ year gap and would be simple with no kids and no house. But never saw it mentioned.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

Candice took over. "Well, after you ran off and left me. I had to call Rogan and explain. When Kayla found out you bailed on me, she was devastated. Especially when I passed on your comments."

-- this is confusing. She is referring to a call after he departed the diner, that night? But we know from his phone calls (25 of them from Kayla on Saturday) that her first calls were to check up on him to see how his night (Friday night) had been with Candice and even how amazing Costa Rica was (morning? Lunch? Afternoon?). We know they cane back Saturday evening (flight takes time) to find the house empty as before he went to sleep, he heard Kayla flip out when she got back to their apartment, and then called while he was awake without him answering. So that must mean the Candice did not talk to Rogan to tell him that thr MC skipped town until at least the next morning or more likely the early afternoon on Saturday. Why the big gap in time? The passage above sounds like Candice called soon after he left. But that is in direct contrast to Kayla's calls unless she knew and was lying (doesn't seem reasonable). Editor should have caught this. As an aside, Kayla learns that the MC spent the night with Candice two years later. But no mention that she was working for Rogan to convince him to sign a multimillion dollar deal? And that he refused Rogan, but slept with Candice since she got paid either way and he was no longer married. Nothing. Again that is not realistic. These omissions are big missed opportunities and would not be skipped in real life. I presume the author does so to maintain some sort of internal structure or consistency in the story or to maintain dramatic tension. Has occurred in many of author's other works. Still well written. Just there are plot and dialog holes.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

Smacking my head. I have read many of this author's well-written stories but something has always bothered me in her LW tales. Though many are well written and have interesting dilemmas, there is something highly disturbing about how many of the women (whether the cheating spouse or the family / friends) treat the MC after a / the betrayal. Then it occured to me what these female characters are all missing or do not have the capacity for: Empathy. They do not have empathy for the feelings of the husband. They may over time simulate something like empathy, but they really do not have it. Some might be remorseful because they see the pain that was inflicted, some might feel sorry for themselves or the destruction of their family, but they lack empathy for their partner. They expect empathy from the betrayed husband but have little to no empathy for the husband. Without empathy they repetitively spit out the same statements and excuses over and over again. It is true with Ali in "My Wife and the Singer", it was true with Cadence in the story about the play, or Desi in "Free Pass", or the Liza in "Jealousy", or Paisley in the rock band story, etc. It is true even if there was no cheating that technically occurred. But nevertheless in all cases with different circumstances, they lack empathy. Ali for living for three weeks fucking her favorite singer every night as soon as they pulled out from their home in a bus and willing to take it to her grave but gets found out and exposed on national television. Cadence complains sbout no support from her husband but has no empathy for how her husband would feel when he would (does) see her with the asshole co-star in simulated sex scenes. Desi has no empathy with her husband when she uses the not-so-clear "hall pass" from early in her marriage but really fails when the husband finds out she broke any and all covenants when she picked a co-worker and worse was still canoodling with the asshole at work (kissing, making out, etc) after the fling. Liza the same way when she refuses to admit that she cheated knowing damn well that her husband was not going to have sex with Denise that first date and he was never told about the swap, she just assumed he knew despite being married to him for 20 years and knew he was old-fashioned. But she was too embarrassed to bring it up because she was afraid it would derail her night of sex, but lacks empathy when her husband is upset. At least Desi found empathy near the end but only when she felt the same pains when her husband uses his "free pass". This lack of empathy by the cheating wife or other female characters (even mothers or sisters) leads to them blaming it on insecurities, pride, fragile male egos, but all lack the empathy to put themselves in the husband's shoes and really own / understand the damage / hurt that was inflicted. In this story it isn't so much about the one night of adultery. Kayla owns up to that and matures suring the story. The lack of empathy is her continued defense of Rogan as being a great guy and remaining friends with him. Not seeing what her husband/ ex sees or has experienced is a lack of empathy. It isn't just about that one night. Rogan is a real asshole. He uses "friendships" to swing business deals. He is relentless and narcissistic. He wants everyone to love him or fete him. But he will do anything to get what he wants including destroy their marriage (which he did). Kayla puts no blame on Rogan. Huh? Remaining friends despite wanting to get back with her ex? Rogan totally lied in that SF apartment about the phone call from Candice (why wouldn't he? He wanted ilicit sex with Kayla. He knew the MC left). If the MC had confronted Rogan right then and there, then there would be no friendship between Kayla and Rogan (and maybe with Candice despite the help she provided when Kayla was down and out). Instead Kayla goes into Rogan's arms when she learns her marriage is dead. But such truthful confrontation (the MC heard Candice's side of the call) would have made this story intractable for the ending the author envisioned and so is carefully left out (though completely unrealistic to omit it). Hence without that info Kayla has no empathy for Luke regarding Rogan, though she just avoids the topic later on. I mean her and Candice showing up to make the pitch to have him sign with Rogan is a great example of this and it suddenly resonated with me. And ironically thr lack of empathy is not present when the lead is a female and her wife is the cheating spouse. Then the husband is usually just an asshole and if anything the cheated-on wife is too forgiving or trying hard to be empathic. But when the husband is the injured party: no empathy. If Kayla had empathy she would neve again put Luke in a situation where her husband would have to permit/reject her dancing with Rogan at the end. She would realize how that hurts the MC. Don't get me wrong I am for a reconciliation here with Kayla and Luke. But other authors get the empathy part right, and the cheating wife if contrite stands up for her husband or at least tries to better understand him. For example in steve2424's works, the cheating wife usually does a more grievous sin to the marriage, sometimes going wayniver the top. But in his reconciliation stories, when the wx wife comes back, she pulls no punches with herself, owns what she did, and has empathy for her husband/ ex husband. Doing that actually allows healing and reconciliation. Instead a lot of these stories by this author are in very grey areas with little understanding of how trust is reforged except with time.

"That's the problem, Rogan. I can't work for somebody I don't respect. You seduced my wife, with no regard to what happens afterwards. You didn't care if it meant we ended up divorced. You didn't care that she contemplated suicide. Fuck, you just don't care. You're a narcissist."

-- this correctly summarizes Rogan Morse. Pity the other characters don't see it. At least Kayla had the decency to (somewhat) respect Luke's feeling regarding Rogan.

I would like to believe that Kayla and Luke will be OK and eventually remarry. But there is no way that Candide and Rogan remain married long. It isn't that they won't have an open marriage-- they will. It is that Rogan os toxic ar a personal level and narcissistic. I wish Candide well but she will have heart break soon. It is the way of the world for thr billionaire technology tycoons.

Saint Luke finally came down off his mountain. Kayla would’ve been much better off without the sanctimonious ass.

Honestly, don’t think this was one of this terrific author’s best works.

WargamerWargamerover 1 year ago

Second time around. I still agree with Luke about Rogan, he is an absolute narcissist. Self absorbed, selfish, manipulative and conniving. He will eventually break Candice’s heart. He will still use her to get his deals and she will do it for him. Their future is doomed.

l do not understand how the two women just don’t get it. The problems Luke has with him will continue, as will the problem of Candice and her relationship with Kayla.

I’ve rescored this from 4/5 to 5/5, l consider this to be one of the authors best works.

I like this story and wish she’d write more like it.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

It doesn’t take much to join the dots between the authors storyline’s and the authors personal views on fidelity, marriage and empathy. It’s a damning narrative where fidelity exists only to serve a purpose until an opportunity arises that allows the female antagonist to remove the shackles of the patriarchy. Forgiveness is inevitable, because like all misguided women they think that all men are ruled by sex, and if not they are damaged good due to their frail male ego and therefore never worthy in the first place.

I would bet the house that the author is quite narcissistic in real life, also hasn’t been able to hold down a meaningful relationship. Her confusion is exasperated by her cognitive dissidence over how relationships should work but always fail in her day to day experiences with both men and women.

Each story is her looking in the mirror on how she treated someone special in her life and how she wished the outcome would have been if she had got her way. We often write about what we know of have experienced so it doesn’t require a long thread to come to that conclusion.

Jesus! What a pathetic ending!

I like what Maya Angelou said about believing people when they reveal themselves to you. And then there’s the Biblical lesson about judging people by their actions. The women are fucked up by his being rich, charming, and a good lover. You’ve written your main character into a corner, with one man who insists on owning everything in his industry. Pretty soon, the two women will have him swapping wives. (I mean, really! Everybody thinks he’s an ass for sticking to his principles!) He’ll end up the beta male in the family, running his little slave ass off between computer designs, apologizing for not serving dinner on time AND meeting his work deadlines. This story makes me gag at all the people drinking his Kool-Aide. Think I’m going too far? It’s reminiscent of all the people at the top of the food chain destroying our country—Musk, Trump, Bezos, Gates, etc. None of them has respect for women or marriages; they all think they own their chunk of the world and can do anything they want to anybody they want.

The author is clever. He organizes a clever story and put's it together well. He has an immense understanding of what amoral people are really all about.

The title is wrong. He used to be my idol only fit the start. "Deceived by my idol's mask of hollow success, I was destroyed by the real devil behind the mask."

The previous three commentators get it. A man who falls in love with an absolutely selfish, self-centered woman is guaranteeing his own sad ending. Run Luke, before you are so weakened by the seduction you can't run.

It is unfortunately, but once the concept of absolute truth and morality is yielded, it is only a matter of time how fast is the slide into hell! After all, 'fool', everybody else is doing it so it must be good.

What convoluted logic you continue to use in your stories. Last page: Rogan tells Luke that Luke slept work his wife, implying that now they were even. But Luke didn't asleep with Rogan's wife. Luke slept with a hooker only when he wasn't married.

Another talented story from this author, but whose moral judgements are not shared by me. I wouldn't have accepted the premise of the Rogan and Candice characters either. The wife, yeah, forgiveness eventually as the ex-husband did. But certainly not with the narcissistic seducers. And get back together? Probably not while she remained friendly with the narcissus. Remained friendly, yes, but lover or FWB? No, if still young enough and affluent to get around and meet people, someone would come along. There are lots of good and caring people out there looking too if you are receptive. I did after a terrible divorce over a wife who cheated with a family friend, and only regretted getting caught, but still wanted to remain married. Best decision I ever made to move on and find a divorced mother possessed of great fidelity and companionship.

I loved most of this story.......but what?

Out of nowhere right at the end dude changes his mind?

Everybody forgets that Rogan told lies to Kayla saying Luke is undecided while on the plane?

I mean, being in open relationships is cool if it works for you. If Kayla found out that she wants to be promiscuous and bisexual it doesn't make her a bad person, not even if she changed her mind and wants to be wild and sexually open. But that wasn't the relationship at the party.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

You are a good author. This is generally a well written story. I am massively disappointed with the way you paint the character of Luke and the continuing way you let Candice insult and deride him. Your beloved Rogan is a narcissist (generally not a good thing) and not as good at reading people as he thinks. Why do u have Luke give in as much as he does? I assume you are a female and quite accepting of open relationships and that’s great so long as you accept that not all people are and don’t dictate to people who don’t feel the same. If Candice is Luke’s friend she should respect his boundaries. Personally I would have laid Rogan out a number of times in that story. I don’t approve of violence towards females but Candice definitely deserves a stern talking to on how to treat friends.

Great story right up until the last page. At that point this dropped from a 4 or even a 5 to a disappointing 1.

Candice and Rogan are nightmares.

I note that Kayla never followed up the fact that Rogan lied to her on the plane.

Memo to Luke: Kayla is a seriously screwed up woman. She has proved time and time again that she has no moral compass. You get judged by the company you keep. This story is kinda bs. You try to make Luke seem unreasonable, but when Candice told Rogan she didn't want to be involved in destroying a marriage, he told her to keep going. Both him and Candice were fully aware of what they were doing. It's like you're trying to bend over backwards to tell a story where everything is just hunky dory if the husband just does what everyone else wants. People are allowed to not be ok with something. That doesn't make them broken or unreasonable.

WakeupnowWakeupnowover 1 year ago

Luke needs to do three things:

1. Lose Kayla forever.

2. Lose Candace forever.

3. Lose Morse forever.

Luke keeps swimming in the toilet bowl with the three idiots above. Luke needs to crawl out of the bowl and flush these fools out of his life forever.

I cannot think of any husband who would not divorce his wife if she did what Kayla did.

AllNigherAllNigherover 1 year ago

I read the entire story desperately hoping it wasn't going where i thought it was. You made the cheater out to be reasonable and the victim out to be an ass. There scumbag is touted as the bigger person. If his exwife really loved him and wanted him and only him... the only right answer to go ahead you know you want to would be no, i don't and never will again. Hated the ending but good writing.

Caviagurl, based upon the many comments yoy should allow someone to do another version. As the antagonist Rogan told Luke he is letting his prior get in the way, you are doing the same damm thing.

Poor even by your low standards. The characters just aren't credible or believable.

It's so funny that authors are coming out of asylum. I saw several western women mindset through podcast. No wonder this piece of crap is being in the minds of author. Highly delusional females all over USA. Pity for the men who are put up with them.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

A mentally disturbed man cannot write plausible male characters. Most of his female characters are written as cunts, too. He needs a new plot.

well, at least this author didn't leave the protagonist raising someone else's child, as he seems to have as a fetish.

Excellent story until the end. Telling Kala to dance with Roland - and she did just that knowing their history. What kind of second chance is that ?

i've read several of this authors stories and it's apparent the author is female. She makes all the men in her stories wimpy and always accepting the cheating wives back. sorry 1*

I missed the “epliloque” where they double teamed Candice while Kayla sat on some ones face.

This was damn good story until the ending. I have read it several times and always had great respect for Luke until the end. Then he gave up his self respect for peace with a sorry piece of shit, just to appease his wife. Who by the way, also treated him like shit in the beginning. The last few paragraphs changed this story from a solid 5, to a pitiful 3.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

Good story but realy terrible ending. Always the man wimps out in your story.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

Good writing. But wow what a load of shit the story was. This author has no concept of human nature.

One of the world's richest men. He takes the wife. Destroys the marriage. She is devastated. (Btw...She is also a total fucking moron as well. Her husband tells her if she goes the marriage is over and she goes anyway.) She is actually contemplating suicide.

The husband has packed up and left. It's clear he HATES Morse. I mean it could not be more clear how badly he hates the man. And how much hatred and rage he has about the entire situation.

He moved away. Got an apartment. New job. A few months later what happens? Well according to this author one of the richest men in the world flies commercial with the slut wife to San Francisco. And they go alone to his apartment.

The billionaire goes alone to the apartment of a man who seethes with hatred for him? Right. Because people who react the way this husband reacted to his wife's betrayal are reasonable and rational people right?

No way on God's green earth is a billionaire going to this guys economy apartment to have a reasonable conversation and say "sorry that I fucked your wife and ruined your marriage." Especially not without an armed body guard or two.

Wanna know why? Because it's America. Guess how many guns are in America? 400 million or so. Guess what happens in America to men who go confront husbands of women who they fucked? They get shot.

And even if they don't get shot? They get a baseball bat upside their heads. I got a 33 inch Louisville Slugger in my umbrella stand right by my door. Just in case I need it. That fucker comes in my apartment in that situation with that whore of an ex-wife? I'm picking a fight with him on purpose and beating him within an inch of his life.

And he would KNOW this already. Rich. Smart. Successful billionaire. He's not going anywhere near that rage filled husband's apartment. Just a dumb dumb story. Ridiculous I so many parts.

I really liked the scene at the wedding where the author is attempting to lecture us all with the sermon about being moral is for the weak. Yeah...let's break that conversation down.

You have a whore. Like literally a whore. A high class and pretty whore. But an admitted whore. Proudly telling the one man in the story who has any morals...who actually believes that fidelity and trust are important in a marriage...there you have the long time whore lecturing the moral man on how her husband is so much better of a man. And the example she uses and is proud of is that she's fucked the 10 men standing around her pimp of a husband in her capacity as a whore. And the husband is proud and confident that he's whored out his wife to all of these men. Yeah. That's great. Isn't it?

Good God the entire thing is absurd. I'm beginning to think this author might be trolling us with all of this?

Ending was a major letdown

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

The story had so much promise but as everybody else has said, major letdown. Guy turns into a cuck, takes his wife back after she cheated on him. All these mentions of him being insecure, low self esteem, etc while the female characters praise the asshole who made her cheat. He should've left, they tried to bring him back, he declined, that was that. A cuck story. Really disappointing

Merlin_the_MagicianMerlin_the_Magicianover 1 year ago

I’m a simple man. Cheat on me and you are d o n e. All through the last half of your story, I kept waiting for Kayla to fall back into Rogan’s clutches. Remember this - Kayla was married when she and Rogan did the nasty. Luke held the high ground but still the women belittled him because he was a moral man who believed in his vow. He slept with Candice but not until 3 years after the cheating and he didn’t go after her, she went after him even while being best friends with the slut. I would never trust her again and I know why he didn’t want to have anything to do with Rogan. After all, the man was a bastard who didn’t respect wedding vows and I wouldn’t put it past him to do it agin. MtM

SaltySurpriseSaltySurpriseabout 1 year ago

Loved the story with only one complaint after all the hatred towards Rogan he would never go to that wedding on pure stubbornness

And with all the money he has made I'm sure he could of manufactured the product himself just saying so he would not need to see that person again. And as to his wife and her lesbo whore come on if she wanted to be around them he should just have left them to be

Thank you Darren

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

Reading thru the first page or 2 I thought I was reading another version of February Sucks, as it sure played out like that. With even his boss trying to get him to go up to the main table so that Rogan could seduce his wife, and offering him a better position with a raise at the company. It just felt like Luke was the Jim character and Kayla was the Linda character and Rogan was taking his wife away for the weekend. The only real difference was Candice was bought for Luke to enjoy, but his moral code wouldn't allow it. Something like Jim in the FS story. I felt that Luke did the right thing by moving out that night and messing up Rogan's plans by not being with Candice, or allowing anyone to talk to him...kind of like what Jim should have done in the FS story, but Luke and Kayla didn't have any kids. See how that one little change, changes the whole dynamic of the story.

Working out the RAAC at the end seemed to work when you laid it out like that (I felt it was going to happen for sure on page 5 or 6), but then you wrote it that way. I'm sure Rogan wasn't the least bit worried that Luke didn't attend the bachelor party, even though he gave off the feeling that he did. Apparently nobody missed him at all, even though Kayla told them he wouldn't go. Again it was that high moral fiber that Luke had, but others didn't see. Even Candice didn't see what Luke did when she pointed out that she had had sex with the entire group of men talking with her new husband, that she thought he was a great man. She just couldn't understand Luke and his moral code, because she was just a slut.

The writing was good, but I guess the author doesn't like strong men, with high morals to be the main character. I've noticed it in several of her stories now (a pattern develops), and it does bother me, but I'll just have to start not reading them, as I prefer a more believable ending. Maybe I'll just stick to reading stuff from QMHL, or ST 1956 instead. At least the men in their stories have balls and get to keep them...especially ST 1956 stories.

This was abysmal. Why this author always tries to write male characters is unknown. Her attempts are pathetic, and really are so bad it can be hard to read. Most all of this portfolio is the same, so unreal that it is hard to proceed. We end up with free drivel.

DrgwngDrgwngabout 1 year ago

I drilled down pretty far into the comments. Must be so very gratifying to the writer to have literally 9 of every ten comments to be negative or vehemently negative. Great to be spending time writing and have everyone panning it in the strongest way. Writer is really clueless and hates men . Probably gets herself off solo when she reads her own stuff and the comments connected to that garbage. An amazingly high negative comment ratio.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

I hate to admit it but good story, well written and evocative, just a pity you made Luke such a detestable wimp, he doesn’t agree with the philosophy of the arsehole and the whore/slut, should have left him alone, after the last discussion with the whore/slut I would have given her a good hard slap to help get her head out of her arse (even if it was her wedding) although after Arseholes little stunt on page he wouldn’t have any wedding tackle left to get married

have re-read on many occasions. one of the best on here. thank you for your time and effort in writing it.

ChopinesqueChopinesqueabout 1 year ago

The writing is a five. But I gave it a four, because none of the other characters, even his ex-wife, were willing to allow Luke to have or keep his views, his own conscience, his own standards. "self-righteous" "sanctimonious" "uptight" and other words were used in the story, even near the end, even by Kayla. Nothing, but nothing is allowed to be just plain unforgiveable. People can change, even Rogan. Even Kayla. That's true. Forgiveness can be extended, even for the unforgiveable! But not demanded, along with continued denigration of his views. The story would have been excellent with some sense of recognition of the wrongness of that by the others.

ChopinesqueChopinesqueabout 1 year ago

Cagivagurl, I'd like to apologize for something in my last comment. I was reading my own preferences into your story. The derogatory things the cast said to Luke are exactly what they would have said, either just defensively, or utterly sincerely and without regard for him. You got them right. It would be nice if at least Luke's wife respected (much less, agreed!) with his views, but in the story they truly didn't! All Luke got from Kayla was tolerance, maybe acquiescence. And if she did, the whole story would not have happened the way it did!

Perhaps at one point Candice expressed respect, if not exactly understanding. She's an appealing character. You are a strongly creative writer. Your stories are layered and have depth. You know how to kick the reader in the gut. It was a remarkable read. Again, apologies.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

A jell

A hell of a story all the more so because it made me uncomfortable with the battle between our modern day Galahad and the (slimy?) moral relavitism of the rest of the crowd. The ambivalent nature of the conflicts make this great and your best stories all display it. It was a pleasure to read and thank for your work. As for the naysayers. stick with Disney if you want a safe story.

wish_thinkerwish_thinkerabout 1 year ago

I was torn by the story, not liking it but it was well written. I would hope that in similar circumstances I would be strong enough to resist something similar. However, people of power do seem to have no shame when it comes down to getting what they want. A sad story. Agree with Chopinesque.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

Coercion is gross whether it's a man or woman doing it.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

You are a great writer, but you write such pathetic men, they don't stick to their morals or ethics and forgive every transgression. Forgiving someone doesn't mean you will ever trust them again; it means letting go of the anger you held so it doesn't destroy you. I've read almost all of your Loving Wives stories and almost all of them have the man disrespected, humiliated, and lied to but in the end they shrug and forgive their betrayer. So ridiculous.
